Did they remove/relocate the original four cabanas that were located near the Waikolohe Valley Pool? If so, then Aulani would now have the same number of cabanas -- eight -- as before the construction began in September 2012.

You can see the four cabanas in this photo taken in September 2012 before construction began on the Ka Maka area.

Those cabanas were not at that location when we were just there. I remember a. Couple of cabanas at the Meneheune bridge.

Thanks for the update. So it looks like Aulani relocated the four original cabanas: one went to the Wailana Pool area and three to the Ka Maka Landing area between the rest rooms and the Grotto Pool.

Wow love the pics! Is the adult pool really only open to 8? Some funny rules listed on pool rules sign- no infectious disease, animals in pool, or blowing water from your mouth. Lol

Thank you for submitting the photos, we will be arriving late this month and was hoping the expansion would be completed on time! The Cafe looks like a welcomed edition. I'd like to see a menu, but I gather they wont put any on their website until the official opening takes place. I just hope its not all the same food as the other locations which is what we found last time with the different eateries.

The only problem I have with Aulani is - I need to go back! We were there last November (1st week) and I have had Aulani-itis ever since I got home!
If the airfare was a little more reasonable (we are east coasters coming from Atlanta) I would go every year. Thanks for the pictures!

Ka Maka Grotto pool by day:

Well even though we are going to be at Aulani in December for 10 days, after seeing your pictures we decided to book another 10 days for the end of May. Thank goodness we bought into Aulani when we did, because once the 8 month window becomes available all the standard room are picked up.
