I just wandered over here from my usual forums to ask if anyone had heard about a rumored replacement of WWTBAM-PI. I read on another board that there may be a dark ride coming to that spot in 18 months or so. The way it was decribed, it may be something interactive.

Aside from taking away one of the greatest acronyms ever, I would not miss WWTBAM-PI too much.

I would miss it, but its not something we do every time at MGM. The reason we dont is because it is so time consuming. The new Lights, Motors, Action show we fel the same about. I realize it takes a long time to get people in and out of these shows, and thats the part that makes us not want to go. We still enjoy the Indy show but it doesnt seem to occupy as much of the day. Probably the same length but they keep it flowing well it seems.

So if Millionaire is replaced, wont bother us much. As long as they replace it with a good draw.

I hope MGM needs more rides.

With it becoming Disneys' PIXAR Studios in the near future :lmao: .

I think they could do a lot with a dark ride.
Cars like DL Roger Rabbit , Monsters INC. list could go on & on.They stepped it up at AK to try and make that a full day and now it's DPS (disney pixar studio) see even that sounds good . :thumbsup2

IMO, I really enjoy WWTBAM-PI. We do it once or twice every trip (although no one gets close to the hotseat! :rotfl2: ). I don't really see how a dark ride could be built in that area. It doesn't look very big to me. But its Disney's decision....not mine..... :teeth:

It is being replaced with ONBBSB-PI!

Oprah's Next Big Best Selling Book - Pick It! :lmao:

Seriously, I agree that it's just not a gotta-do-every-visit attraction. We did it last December when DS(25) was with us, and as we walked in, the three of us got asked to sit in the fast-finger seats. While we didn't make it to the HS, it was a lot more fun being 'on-stage' instead of up in the cheap seats. But that will take care of our WWTBAM-PI needs for a few years.....

I think they should replace it with a family ride. MGM has it's thrill rides and it's shows, but there is really not too many rides for the whole family. The GMR has it's scary parts, Star tours and many others have height requirements, and most of the other kid-friendly things are shows.

They definitely could use a light, fun, Fantasyland type ride. Maybe with a "Cars" theme?

Well, the game show is certainly a "has-been" so this isn't a surprise. Hopefully MGM has some new stuff on the horizon and this is just one more place that can house something great.

I've read that the "Midway Madness" attraction they are designing for Paradise Peir will also go in to the WWTBAM soundstages area.

The same article I read on JHM said that Voyage of TLM will be closing soon because of the musical opening on Broadway :confused3

I'm sure the end of WWTBAM-PI has somthing to do with meridith from the view going to NBC, with her gone they probably won't be doing any more of the real shows so think the attraction has run its course.

Is the Drew carey sound thing still there? If it is, That is just awful. i would much rather see that get replaced with something, anything.

It is, and I agree. I remember something like a "Disney attraction survivor" game here on the DIS somewhere. They started with a list of every attraction and then people voted them off. When an attraction got 5 votes, it was off. Then the list was re-written and the process continued.

If I remember correctly, "Sounds Dangerous" was the first or second attraction voted off.

I love WWTMAM-PI. Would hate to see it go. We go to the park just to play.

I like that it is something you do as opposed to have happen to you.

Rides are cool but you sit and they do the deal. You get to play Millionaire.

They can't take it away until someone in the family has won a cruise!!!!!

We're big WWTBAM-PI fans too. Between the four of us, we have six hat & pin sets - we won't be back until next December. I hope it's still there so that we can at least get a Polo shirt! I agree that the Studios could use a more family-oriented ride, but leave this attraction alone.

I have wondered what will happen to the syndicated show now that Meredith is moving on. Any chance of a replacement host?

I have heard Midway Madness to MGM as well, but not there. I have heard that it will go where Al's Toy Barn is.

The way I am hearing it is the WWTBAM-PI sound stage was chosen because it would be more economically feasible than having to build a brand new show building. They would be replacing something that has run its course with a new family friendly ride... However, I don't know if this is true or not... Please take it as rumor....
