I'm the confused mother of a bouncing baby 19yo. Eric arrived this afternoon with all his worldly goods in a box. Seems his father kicked him out of the house for "coming home late from church." riiight....I haven't got the real story yet, but he seems to be a very nice kid. I figure what goes around comes around and sooner or later, the truth will out. I do know for a fact that his mother is dying of liver disease( she's been home from the hospital a week.)
I fed him korma(coconut-based curry), with mushrooms and broccoli, for supper; he ate two platefuls and cleaned off the table when he was finished. He is very polite and helpful. I made him tell his parents where he is.
I figure some day my own son may need a place to stay when he gets kicked out of the house for "coming home late from church" and maybe someone will take pity on him.
I told him "no drugs, no smoking, no alcohol, no second chances". No girls in the basement, no cursing, treat everyone with respect, no yelling. His answer: "Wow! that's some pretty lax rules." I guess things are different at his house.
So, welcome Eric to the weird side of town!

Your rules are very reasonable.
