Hi all- Just wanted to share with you this email I received yesterday for a new discounted rate. I was able to save $40 on my previous reservation. The email had a pin number which they did not ask me for, but I was asked for my email address - where it was sent. Notice the dates. Did anyone else get this?

Dear Annual Passholder,

We just made it even MORE AFFORDABLE to stay on-site at Universal Orlando Resort.

Choose from 3 magnificently themed hotels
Stay steps away from Universal Studios® and Universal's Islands of Adventure®
Skip the regular attraction lines all dayˆ in both theme parks with Universal ExpressSM ride access. (A FREE benefit worth at least $70 per person, per day!ˆˆ)
This exclusive rate is only available to you through this special offer when used with your unique PIN number below.

Offer Valid for Travel:
Now - March 25 and April 4 - June 10, 2010

HRH May 27 $144, May 28 $164.- the rate is lowest I have received in a long time- since the Entertainment card! Concerns me a bit, worried that harry Potter will not be opened at this time and they're trying to sell rooms.

I wish they would e-mail me something like that,we are AP holders also.Do you already have A reservation?

I got it too! I was able to lower my rate for this weekend from $199 to $144!! Now we'll get to eat!!

They did require the pin and the email address to process. About an hour after I made the reservation changes, the phone rang and it was Universal. I thought they were calling me to tell me they made a mistake and it wasn't valid for this weekend. Instead they called to tell me we won a pass for two to ride a float at the Mardi Gras parade this Saturday. Too Cool!! :cool1:

I've been a Disney fan for many, many, years and they have NEVER treated me so well. I'm not so slowly becoming a full on convert!

We didn't get it either and my wife called to find out why. It turns out that in the email address part of wherever they keep the APH information it didn't have an address, it just said declined as in we declined to give an email address when asked for one, which is pretty unlikely. So they fixed it and said they will mail that offer to us ASAP.

If you or any other AP holders aren't getting emails you might want to call and see if they even have an email address on file for you.

Hey guys, there's no need for the code or e-mail.

When you're looking up rates for your hotels online using the Universal or Loews Hotels website, be sure to use Promo Code APH. I pulled up the $144 HRH rates for certain dates in June.

I haven't gotten it either and I normally get the annual pass offer emails. Hmmmm.

I tried APH during one of the special dates and came up with the same rate I had before, I'll wait until I get the email with the PIN and see if there's a difference.

OMG I got the e-mail. I... changed my dates to the new rates.

I.. want to be excited.. but I just.. don't understand why the rates are so cheap. I've never ever stayed for so cheap and I've stayed over a dozen times. $104 a night weekdays, and $119 weekends at Royal Pacific for first week of June.

Does this mean Harry Potter won't be open? :confused3

No, it means HP isn't having the impact they expected. The economy isn't getting any better and all hotels have been having a horrible time.

As for HP not being open early June, that's technically possible. If you watched the commercial it said that it was opening Spring 2010. The first day of summer is June 21. I'm sure they would love to have it open a lot sooner than that.

I was worried about there only being 3 on-site hotels but I guess everyone is going later in the Summer. But for those with Spring trips, this is a great, great deal. And if I get to see Harry Potter at those rates, THE BEST. DEAL. EVER.

I received this email the other day. The weird thing is I don't have an annual pass! Perhaps there's a glitch which is why some AP holders haven't received it? :confused3

I've double checked my reservation and they definitely don't think I have an annual pass!

Any other non-annual pass holder get it? :confused3

There is definitely a glitch. They had us listed with no email address and a flag that said we declined to give them one. We not only gave them one, we gave 2 separate ones since my wife and I both have PAPs.

In your case, if it gives you a better rate I would first make sure you have a copy of your old rate printed out. Then get the new rate. When you go to the hotel bring a copy of the letter and the old rate. If they give you the new rate, good for you. If not you won't be any worse off.

Nobody is taking any chances on booking onsite in late spring until they know for sure that Harry Potter is open.

I am at the parks right now and they are the most crowded we've seen them this week. I have no clue how many people are staying onsite though.

i got it too
i have just the power annuel pass but there is no details in the conditions so i think i can get this rates

Yeah, I took that chance. But if Harry's not open, I'll push back my trip. I'm looking at backup plans for my dates, like a cruise or a tropical vacation.

My wife has been going round and round with the Universal people all day now. First one person said they would send us a Pin then another said they wouldn't because they were only sent out at random. She can't get them to tell her how they are supposed to send random emails to people they don't have in the system. Since they have long time pass holders with no email and people with no pass at all getting sent Pins they are obviously having problems. The trouble is getting to speak to someone with enough authority to do something about it. Worse comes to worse I'll speak to them in person March 5th. They seem to handle things a lot better when you can deal with them face to face.

Can someone who received this tell me the email address it came from? The folks at passholder services say they have no idea about this and want us to let them know who sent it out. They think it came from Disboards :rotfl2:
