New AP Rates Are Out

Has anyone heard if there are Poly discounts for May? I was on phone with great CM, she saw none. She checked with her manager who said Poly was included in AP rates, so either rooms are already gone, or the rooms have not been made available yet.

Poly rooms are gone with the AP discount. When I called first thing this morning, there was only theme park view left - we had a garden view ressie that I wanted the AP rate applied to. I called back a 2nd time to see if I would get different info from someone else, but they said the same thing - only theme park view left.

So, I called back a third time with the intention to upgrade to theme park view because with the discount, it would only be $200 more for our 4-night stay, so I thought it would be worth it. Lo and behold, the third call was the charm because before I told her I wanted to upgrade to theme park view I first asked to apply the AP rate to my garden view ressie & was told "OK, you got it - you just saved about $450 on your trip" :thumbsup2

I was thrilled to say the least! So at some point between calls 2 and 3 someone else cancelled their garden view room thereby opening up a garden view room at the AP rate for me! :goodvibes

So keep trying - you never know if someone is going to change their plans.

So let me ask you guys a question - in your opinion, are the FL resident discounts typically (historically) as good as this AP discount? I am currently booked at BCV but wouldn't mind switching to BC if I could get the discount. I do not have an AP - but my TA told me that it would only be $350 for me as a FL resident. So it sounds like I would still save money overall because the room savings would be more than the $350 plus I would have an AP. But if I can maybe get the same deal with a FL resident rate - I would rather go that route. Thanks!

I have been trying all day for AP discount at Poly...i called 6 times...no kidding...and every time they said no....and I started calling at 8:00 this morning...I read where you saw it on the Annual Pass site...where does it tell you on that site..I went and looked and put in my dates but did not see anywhere to put in the AP code...thanks..amy

Normally the FL resident rate is the same or a little higher than the AP rate but not that much more. And if you are a FL resident you can also get a seasonal pass where some of the days of the year are blacked out but it is alot cheaper - its like $225 or something like that.

I had two nights booked at AKL. Paid my one night's deposit of $309.38 (with the same amount due at checkin). After asking for the FJC code, my balance due at checkin is $59.60. I didn't have to cancel and rebook. He just applied the code to my existing reservation. My rate works out to 41% off ($184.49 with tax). And to top it off, I changed my mind on my resort after I'd confirmed my new rates and asked if there was availability at the Wilderness Lodge. There was standard view available and he changed my ressie over to the Wilderness Lodge. I already checked it online and I'm all changed over with my outstanding balance of $59 showing. Where's the easy button? :rotfl:

Long time lurker here - My TA and I are getting NOTHING aside from SSR and FW Cabins from April 23rd to the 29th. The worst part is that rack rate is all gone too!!

Is there something going on that week that I should know about??? I thought the last week of April was traditionally a slow week...

We're currently booked at POFQ. Originally we were going to go from May 1 - 7, but we got an amazing deal on air in April so we changed our dates. To say I regret it now is an understatement... :sad2:

That's Passover week. Alot of Northeast schools have off that week.

Correct. Alot of us DVC members were having a hard time booking that timeframe about 7 months ago when booking began. Luckily for us, we arrive the following week and had no problem booking. I think the first 3 weeks of April are going to be very busy.

I find what I'm seeing on the AP site very interesting. When I plugged in my dates and the AKL, it gives me a quote for standard view and pool view, $164 and $174 respectively - but only for weekdays! Over the weekend days, it ups the rate by $50, to $214 and $224 respectively.

However, if I look under the "alternate offers", there is another AKL quote listed there - for cheaper! When I click on that, it shows just a standard room available, but for all nights at the $164/night (which is what I held this morning). I tried a couple of other resorts, and also had this happen with the BC and BWI, but some other resorts just showed the differing weekday/weekend discounts.

Then, when I tried to add dining (just to see the quote, I'm not even interested), no matter what I tried with the lowest AKL quote, it kept kicking me to the higher weekday/weekend rates. It makes me wonder if only certain AP discounts are available as "room only", while maybe higher rates are being charged if you add dining.

All in all, it's very odd - and quite sneaky IMO. This will be interesting. popcorn::

Anyone else noticing this?

Interesting....:surfweb:

I have something reserved with the dining...and it's much higher than the rates being quoted here..they won't break it down for me..it's with the dining. So I just figured the dining..and take it off...and I'm quoted WAY more than the discounted AP rate. Figuring that they are giving me the AP rate for part of it..and then up-ing it as it goes out of the discounted period..and even more so toward the Memorial Day weekend. May 18th to the 25th. The rates must be really high then. We vacationed this week last year, and had a code for the entire period..so it's very dissapointing. It seems they only apply the discount on the exact days..not based on the day you book, and then following through with that rate the way they used to. They are holding it..but I'm doubting we will use it if we can't change our dates.

Do you have a seasonal pass? They are a great deal and allow you to book the AP deals.

Looks to me like it is a correction to the weekend rates that are always messed up when the AP rates are applied. The difference in price seems to be with the weekend rates. For the AP rates for Jan--the website showed that the weekend rates were more at the mods, but in reality they did not have weekend rates during that time.

No the charge for an additional adult is only $5 extra - at least that is what it was at the Cabins in January (we had 2 extra adults so it was $10 more a night - I think it was $215 instead of $210)

It's been our experience this additional charge changes based on the resort..value/moderate/deluxe. Which doesn't make any sense...it should be a standard amount across the board in my opinion.

*sigh*

We were supposed to go the following week (first of May) and then got a great deal on air, so we decided to go a week earlier.

God, I regret it so much now...

I have a reservation for 5/16 - 5/19 at All Star Movies at the AAA rate. I also purchased 4-day park hopper passes with the intention of upgrading to an annual pass sometime during the trip. Can I upgrade my tickets through Disney reservations and get the AP rate now? Do you need to have the AP when you check in or is the voucher sufficient. How quickly do the AP rate rooms usually go? I just saw this thread - would all the rooms be gone by now?

You may miss most of us. It's back to school up North the 28th. What are your dates?

I just booked 5/8 - 5/13 at Pop on my AP voucher. They gave me the AP rate, I just have to have my voucher at check-in. :goodvibes

not to hi jack, but I wanted to let you know that they may take the voucher, but you are safer getting it activated first. I just got back and activated my voucher in DD before check in. You may just want to call the resort to make sure. I am just passing on info I was told. I'd hate for you to get there and try your voucher, them not take it and then you'd have to go to DD or a park to activate it.

I checked in this past 2 weeks ago, I did not activate my pass till the day I left! 23 visisits, never once asked for my AP. weird.

I've just been trying to get into the passholder site and it won't take my AP, I tried it yesterday and it was working fine.
