New AP holder, ever get special weekend rates?

First time AP'er.....
Historically speaking, has anyone ever gotten a special invite to come for weekend or few days off season at special rate.

just wondering cuz would love to be at world during food & wine festival

Nope, they just release codes for certain time frames (end of Aug - beginning of Oct for example). Nothing like last minute/special offer discounts.
