New AP discounts starting Febr 6th, 2014 - limited time

More pricing information on the difference in cost of the renewal AP to the renewal PAP.

According to the fellow who just renewed our passes, the price differential is identical to the cost of a Water Park annual pass. He passed that on to us in case we wanted to upgrade in 3 or 4 months to the PAP. It would make more sense at that point to buy the Water Park annual pass as it is good for one year from the purchase date, whereas the upgrade to the PAP would end on the anniversary date of the renewal of the AP.

Hmmm...interesting observation and good advice from the CM.

Good information if all you want the PAP for is the water parks, but we usually make a trip or two to Disney Quest when we have PAPs, and that's not included in the WP APs.

Still confused about the up grades. I just renewed January 6. I did have the pap but when renewed didn't get pap just ap since there was no deals. Now that ther is. I am goin again in February. Can I now up grade to pap. And if so what is the cost
Thanks
Amy

PAP will be $484 + 6.5% tax. Activate by January 31, 2015. No blackout dates. AP is supposed to remain @ current DVC discount.

Since you live in New Hampshire, at least according to your DIS profile. you are not a FL resident. DVC members do not have access to FL Seasonal passes unless they also reside in FL.

I did get the PAP last year when it was $399+tax, but I purchased it for the 20% park merchandise discount. Now that it is 10%, like a regular pass, I plan to downgrade to a regular AP when I renew. A PAP is not worth it for me, as I don't use the water parks, nor do I play golf.

Can you tell me how you did this? Was it through the Disney shopping site?

Premium passholder used to get 20% off merchandise in the parks by showing their pass. Regular AP holders got 10%, since 2013 ALL pass holders get 10%, so the Premium AP, for me, is no longer of value over a regular AP, as I personally didn't do the waterparks or DisneyQuest.

I'm so very disappointed. I was really excited about the pass for WDW & DLR together. We're taking family to WDW end of May this year, then to DLR in Dec. In June, 2015, we're back to WDW, and then we'll do F&W in the fall for the 1st time.

So, basically, none of these offers will work for us. The combo, Premier ?, pass is way-y-y too expensive! So that's out.

The PAP won't work either, due to dates. This May trip can't be pushed back, and next year's June trip can't be moved up. We're taking grand-kids to SWW, and besides those dates, we also have to deal with their "last day of school" date. 2 different sets of grand-kids, with one going this May, and one going next June.

The PAP would have worked for our 2 trips in 2015.....except it has to be activated by the end of January, 2015. We've done January trips before, but there's no way we can do it next year.

I really wish that DVC would have these offers set up to allow more people to take advantage of them. Why not have an "activate by" date be the end of 2015, instead of in the beginning of the year?

We don't benefit from this offer either:sad2: Our AP's expire Aug 26th. Plus, with all the changes at Disney I am not sure I want to spend all this money as we are unsure if we are going next year.

I know some were very excited about this offer, but I was hoping for extra FP's. Oh well...

So, basically, it's $20 more than the regular AP, right? Besides water parks and DQ, there is no other advantage right?

So excited about this! I have three trips planned this year - May, Sept and Nov, and I haven't done the water parks in ages as I generally only stay a few hours and can't justify the price of tickets. An extra $20 on top of the regular DVC annual pass is a great deal!

We are actually excited about this option. We have 3 trips coming up, with a total of about 18 days. We have some DVC AP certificates that we bought last June before the price change. DW and I were going to activate ours in April and DS7's PAP was going to be renewed to last throughout April 2015. Now, I will buy 3 of these PAP tickets and activate two in April and save DS7's for our July and December trips (16 days total) -- which we may be able to use for our summer 2015 trip, as well. The PAP deal is a little less than renewing our son's PAP and allows us to activate his this summer, instead of the April anniversary date of his current PAP.

I'll just keep the DVC AP vouchers I bought last summer for 2015 or beyond. I can understand the frustration others have with the activation date. Maybe they are trying to coordinate AP ticket offerings with the DVC perk offerings.
