nEW AP BOOKING RULES

At least this offer is better than what some of the major hotel chains are doing. They have a "Best rate" where you get the cheapest rate, but you prepay the whole stay. In addition, they do not agree to lower the price if the price dips even lower. I think the entire amount is forfeited if you fail to show.

I will still look for traditional AP discounts. If they are not available, I will be staying somewhere else. Probably DVC if a member discount is available or offsite if not.

I understand your feelings about this Robin, but the AP rates the Best Rate program seems to be quoting right now are 25% off or better already. So, unless there is no availability through the AP program at the DVC resort you want (if it is one that is in the AP program), you might already be able to get a better deal through them and if the prices dip lower, you are guaranteed that lower dip as well.

Same answer to you Johnnie - the rates are coming out 25-35% lower (so it appears) for most dates. So you are NOT booking rack rates like it looked the first day. I think this program was one more botched release by Disney where they really weren't ready and it took a while to get things running well. We will see. (I also think if they can fill hotels at the 120 day mark, they are going to be estactic - understandably so....there really might start being a true shortage of any priced rooms at WDW soon.)
