They are extremely overpriced and it will be just suites until late 2012. There are several threads on this subject. Here's one, http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2576995&highlight=art+of+animation&page=78.

Here's some price comparisons with the All-Star Resorts. A Family Suite at AoA in Summer season is $345 per night, at ASMu it's $295. A Standard room weekday price in early December at AoA is $105 per night, at any All-Star it's $95.

How can they call these value resorts at those rates?????

I thought it was suppose to be an afforable option for families....wow don't see us paying that for a value room....why don't they just make one rate for value...mods and deluxe resorts.....it would make it so much eaiser for us to make decisions. I can't calucalate rates with all the different "seasons" they have now. One trip we had 4 different seasons, crazy.

It's not only the different seasons, it's all the categories they keep adding. Pop Century now has Standard, Preferred, Standard Pool View, and Preferred Pool View. I've lost track of how many categories POR has; Standard, Preferred, Water View, Royal Guest Rooms and who knows what else.

Not only that but CSR is more expensive than the other Mods not counting the Fort Wilderness Cabins. How did the cabins become Mods? AoA will be the most expensive Standard rooms at the Values with Pop being second and the All-Stars being the cheapest.

As long as Disney has people lining up with their wallets open they won't stop adding categories and raising prices.

I think the big issue right now is that AOA is pretty much excluded from any discounts. In my opinion, there are a couple reasons for this. They figure people will be wanting to stay at a new resort, regardless of the price, and they may not be as concerned about high occupancy right at the start when they are just ramping up the different areas, and have construction going on. Give it a year, and I'm thinking the price differences will balance out more.

I'd like to stay there, but I don't want to pay rack rate - so I'll wait.

Im very excited , calling to book room in AOA for march 2013 next week ,Ill let u know how it goes .

Been vacationing at disney since 1985 and love staying on property!

I priced out a room suite there for Thanksgiving week. One thing you need to keep in mind about the price difference between these suites and family suites at the other values is that these suites have a kitchen area, living room area and bedroom along with two baths that are all themed accordingly. The CM told me hat they are not going to honor any discounts, pins, free dining, etc. at this resort any time soon. It is projected to sell out due to popular demand.

We tried to book a room for the end of Nov., but were told that only suites were being booked. The prices are reasonable for the higher price in the suites because they are actually like apartments; there are many more conveniences than at the All Stars like a kitchen area and separate rooms. We booked for Pop with the idea of moving to AoA's Little Mermaid wing if they finish early and there is a soft opening. I'll be anxious to here how you make out with your March 2013 booking, ehawknj. Good Luck.

All Star Preferred $110
Pop $100
Pop Preferred $115

The price seems pretty well in line with the other values.

Actually AoA is more expensive than Pop and All-Stars for any time of year. You failed to mention that during the Season you quoted AoA Standard rooms are $105 and All-Stars are $95. The rooms are the same size and you don't get anything extra at AoA than you do at the other Values.

Some people are saying AoA suites have kitchens and separate rooms as if ASMu suites don't. Yeah AoA has an extra sleeping area but ASMu also has the kitchenette, living room, and two bathrooms just like AoA and is $50 per night cheaper.

We booked our little mermaid room for 6/14 - 6/22/13 and paid a deposit of $193.50
$172/night + tax during weekend and $145/night + tax during week

I booked our standard room for July 2013 this past Friday with no problem.

I didn't fail to mention anything. I was adding on to what you had previously posted. That information was included in your post that I quoted in mine:
... A Standard room weekday price in early December at AoA is $105 per night, at any All-Star it's $95.
I felt that your post was incomplete. It is funny that you thought the same about mine. Although, all of the information was present somewhere in my post.

AoA is a smaller area for regular rooms and doesn't seem to have a preferred area. When taking all of the room prices into account, I just don't think that $5/night more than a non-preferred room at Pop makes it "extremely overpriced".

Considering that until this year all Value resorts were the same price excluding ASMu Family Suites, AoA is overpriced. Considering that AoA Family Suites are $50 more per night than ASMu Suites AoA is extremely overpriced.

I usually go to WDW twice a year and stay for 8 nights. If I were to need a family suite at a Value resort and I could save $400 by staying at ASMu that's what I would do. To me $400 more for AoA is extremely overpriced. YMMV.

I agree it is over priced, however, we are staying there come August in the Little Nemo suites. However, this is a double treat for me:) My daughter agreed that we should stay there, meaning, her stepdaughter and her 5 year old daughter. Plus, the stepdaugher's best friend..This will be the last trip with the my stepgranddaughter as she will graduate come next June..It will be a surprise the all the girls as they think we are staying at Pop:) I can't wait to see their faces:)
