Hi All,

I'm a huge Disneyland fan (aren't we all?) and always love to get photos with characters while at the park.
Does anybody have any tips for when and where to find some of the more elusive ones?

Thanks!

Oh, I'll be in Disneyland on December 9 and 10.

We caught Jack Skellington and Sally outside the Haunted Mansion around 11ish. But I believe they must have character appearance schedules that you could check on at the park.

If you are looking for specific characters, your best bet is to ask City Hall in DL where they will be and when. That has always been extremely helpful for us!

A lot of Characters are on main street. So make sure to circle back there while you are in the parks. THe CMs will tell you whrm to circle back to catch your characters...

Thanks everyone.

I remember trying to ask at City Hall on my last visit and they were less then helpful.
Did I just get an uninformed cast member? Do they really keep a schedule of who is going to be where? That would be fantastic!

Oh, that's unfortunate! It's always been helpful for us and they've been very friendly. The last time we were specifically looking for Woody and Jessie, and the CM called somewhere to check, got right back to us, and told us where they would be and approximate time (and they were there within 15 min. of what she had said). Try again...maybe it was a fluke?

on the daily schedule that you get at the gates before you enter the parks on the bottom they have the scheduled times that the characters come out to take photos and what not!

Thanks again everyone.

I will try city hall again.
Since you're all being so nice, may I ask another question?
Are certain characters season specific, or can they all be found any time of year?
I'd really like to meet Hook and Smee on this next trip!

I have seen Hook every time we have been there and we go every Dec.. I havent seen Smee for a while..

That's great!
I spent 5 days there a few months ago and never saw Hook. Around 5 years ago is the last time I saw Smee (with Hook).

Thanks again. See you all there!

Happened to me as well. They couldn't (or wouldn't) even tell me when Chip and Dale came out. :confused3

We've seen Hook hanging out at Coke Corner around 1.40 PM in the afternoon, shortly before the Mad Hatter and Alice came out to play Musical Chairs with the kids.

Other than that we only ever saw him at the Halloween party and at Minnie's Breakfast, a character meal.

We like to do Character Meals at Plaza Inn, Goofy's Kitchen, Ariels Grotto and more....
Minnie, Captain Hook, Chip & Dale, White Rabbit, Geppeto, Eeyore, Tigger, Max, HJ Foulfellow, Fairy Godmother, Winnie the Pooh, Pip (Penguin from Mary Poppins) and Rafiki were all at breakfast at Plaza Inn.

Ariels at DCA had 5 princesses.

We don't focus so much on the food (although we do try to grab a bite now and then) but plan on doing these as an easier way to interact with the characters (photo's and autographs).

We never felt rushed and just enjoyed the fun !

Verizon has an app Disney Moble Magic ....its supposed to have locations of characters in the park. Haven't used it yet.....but that might be helpful.

Do you know if the character meal is the only way to meet Ariel? She's my 6-yr-old's favorite princess, but I'm not sure if we're going to be able to afford a character meal...

Thanks!

We met her twice last week at the Princess Fantasy Faire. She was super nice and even remembered having seen us already, and which day it had been!

Great! We may have to plan a couple of trips through there. We HAVE TO meet Belle and Ariel - my girls' favorite princesses! :lovestruc

I know the original posters trip was last week but wanted to mention what i have found.

In the early morning I found Buzz Lightyear in tomorrow land outside the shop by Space Mountain.

In October I found Pocahontas outside the Round-up area but santa's sleigh is their now so I think she turns up in frontierland outside the mexican restaurant.

Jack and Sally are in NOS by the Rivers of America.

Sully and Mr Incredible are in the Hollywood Backlot area

The obvious ones are on the daily schedule such as Princesses at PFF and Tink at Friends in Pixie Hollow.

One thing I was told is the original 3 Princesses (Cinderella, Aurora, and Snow White) are at PFF 1st thing in the morning so get there FIRST and that's who you should see. They say for about 40 minutes and then the Princesses switch. The Character Handler I talked to said after that it is anyone's guess on who will be there.

At the Information Desk outside where you get AP's is an attendant who can look up on a computer certain characters! They are not always correct though! I was told Mary Poppins would not be around the day I asked and a short time later they were in the Plaza area next to the castle (can't think of what that area is called). It's to the left as you face the castle. Also things can change as I was looking for Alice and was told she would be in Fantasyland at a certain time. Well that is the Day Fantasyland "lost its Pixie Dust" so she showed up at Coke Corner instead.

Aww...how cute! I do want to add that Ariel is not guaranteed to be at PFF though. There are usually 2-3 princesses at PFF and they rotate so you can get any of these: Ariel, Belle, Aurora, Cinderella, Snow White, Jasmine, Mulan, Tiana, Pocahontas (rare) and Princess Minnie (also rare).

In addition to the ones already mentioned, you can also meet Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Goofy at Toontown by their houses. Occasionally, you may run into Donald and if you are really lucky, you'll see Clarabelle.

Pooh and his friends have their own meet and greet area by Critter Country. Brer Bear and Brer Fox also makes random appearances in that area along with Chip and Dale.

I've seen Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers by Tomorrowland near Stars Tours but they may not be around for a while as Star Tours is currently down for renovation.

Stitch, Mr. & Mrs. Impossible, Handy Manny, Max and Sully can be found at the Hollywood Backlots.

Woody, Jessie and the Green Army Men can be found at Paradise Pier in front of the carousel.

Mary Poppins and Bert are sometimes seen near the Coke Corner or by the Carnation Plaza. I've also seen the penguin hanging out in front of the castle as well.

I've seen Suzy (the mouse from Cinderella) and Honest John hang out in Town Square.

Sorcerer Mickey appears at the Drawn to the Magic show and all the characters pose for pictures at the end (not sure if that show is still running).
