We have decided to stay at WL. DH has always wanted to stay there but I am a Poly nut. We saw WL on Great Hotels and it looked pretty nifty so we're giving it a shot. I can't wait! We still have quite some time until we go but I'm just soooo excited! It will be my sons first trip and he LOVES Bear in the Big Blue House so I know this will be a very exciting trip. I've heard nothing but great things about the WL so far so I hope it is the perfect resort for a special trip.

I guess my biggest question for the time is "Are there any woods/lagoon view rooms at Standard price"? There are a few rooms at the Poly that give you a lagoon view at a garden view price (which is standard). Anything like that at WL? Also, are bunk beds available in Standard rooms or would we need to request a woods/water view room to get bunk beds? Any help would be appreciated!

...Welcome to the DIS, and a special welcome to our "Lodge Away from Lodge"! I believe the pix in question are of the end of the Fantasmic show at MGM. It is a water/music/fireworks/stage/video show all rolled into one, and is a MUST SEE for all ages while at MGM! (word of advice: DON'T sit in the first 10 rows if you don't wish to get wet!)

Boy that does not sound good, I lived in FL when Andrew came through and after lots of years of saying "oh don't worry about it" Andrew sure changed my tune. I hope you won't really need that boat and that everyone stays safe and PLEASE feel free to call it any dirty names you like if it will help it go away. I think you would be forgiven under the circumstances.

NO NO NO! No bad weather allowed except for the occasional afternoon 20 minute downpoor!

What we do to keep bad weather away on our trips is the following:

Sacrifice one Teletubby a day for 4 days using a swift blow from Captain Feathersword's sword. On the 5th day, place The Great Purple one (Barney) up atop of a stake and burn him slowly over a period of 12 hours. No faster and no slower.

If that doesn't work, as a last resort, run around your house with a Mickey hat on acting like you are sprinkling PD all over the place. Make sure your neighbors are present to give you "mental" support.

Keith-Atl: I am sure you must be going nuts getting the last minute details ready. Good luck!! If there's anything I can do to help, let me know.

I have been lurking in this thread for awhile (our first ever trip to the Wilderness Lodge is in a few months), and decided that now we be a good time to jump in and say hello!

Isn't ANYONE ELSE GOING TO SEND ME PICTURES????

I also just wanted to mention that we will be there when holiday decorations are up, and we'll take a buncha pictures of that for you!

Definately catch that show if you can (nightly at MGM Studios). We thought it was wonderful!!

FloridaCat, ever since you mentioned that table with the rock speaker near it I have been unable to think of much else! I can't wait to be laying in a lounge there with an ice cold Pina Colada in my hand. (Those things taste SOOOOOOOOOO good at Disney!)

KeithAtl, You are going really soon!!! How many days now? Please take lots of pictures!! One from your balcony would be great especially if you have a good view of the fireworks or the lake.

boneytdc, you may envy our countdowns but keep in mind that we will one day be envying YOUR countdown. Read about 20 pages back when Ratpack was going. You'll see what I mean.

FonFon, MainMarion, and MosMom, DON'T DO IT!! STAY AWAY!! YOU WILL BE DOOMED FOREVER AS FANATICS OF THIS PLACE!! Don't say I didn't warn you.

I should have them scanned sometime tomorrow. Please, can you guys PM me with a brief description of what each pic is and who is in them? Also, I need room numbers for where these pics were taken.

Fred: Fabian is now a Category 3 hurricane, which means it is a mean one, 5 being " Leroy Brown". Still a week away of knowing what it is going to do. At this point they are tracking a path from the Florida Keys to the Carolina's.

Right ow we are having fantasic weather for the Holiday weekend. Great for the folks trying to dry out.
