FloridaCat, here's wishing good luck to your DGD. I hope all her hopes and dreams come true. It sure helps that she has a great gramps like you behind her. I am sure your DD is just as supportive as you. It sounds like you have a great family. Makes me miss my grandparents and my dad. Luckily I still have my mom. Not only does she live next door to my family, but we go on our Disney vacations together. She too is supportive and is a great grandmother to our son.

There is nothing like a great family life and wonderful vacations and memories.

Here's wishing everyone a Disney day.

We'll be there soon.

Diane

loubelou and MLbooks...
thanks so much for the replies...that's just the kind of info I needed and even better price than I thought! :D

...back in June I called and got a DC price of $4,800 for 7 persons (4 adults, 2 Juniors, 1 child) for 3 rooms @ ASMO for 7 days including LoS passes. I called the very next day when FTP came out, and, for the VERY same week (July 26-Aug 2), SAME amt persons, SAME # rooms, Same LoS passes, I was quoted $3,000!! Now, tell me THAT's not a savings!!

We could have booked an All-Star resort for somewhere between $1100-1200 for the FTP. A good friend of mine just got back from her FTP at ASMo and said her trip was simply wonderful and the crowds weren't as bad as they expected.

I still have a hard time believing what a good deal we got with the FTP. We had no plans of going to WDW this year until I just happened to log on to the WDW site on May 9th hoping to see some sort of great deal offered and there it was. Yea for us!!!!

Kimmar,

I really am sorry that you had to cancel your plans--any chance you will get to reinstate them anytime soon?? Hoping you get to go soon and visit the WL again!!!

OMG, we're leaving tomorrow morning! We are all packed, all four of us. Today will just be a "loose ends" day. Making sure the camera batteries are charged, and that we have the chargers packed with us, washing favorite blankies to take with us - oh, and our flannel pillowcases, have to take those. What else? Oh, wipe down the stroller, freshen up the fabric on it with Resolve, pack treats and activities for the plane ride - HMMM....anyone got any ideas for plane activities for a 2 yr old? I'll have some crayons, and some books I can read to her, but what else? BTW, this is my daughter - we had a "spoil me" day complete with bubble bath, painting fingernails and toenails, curling her hair, and - gasp - putting makeup on!!! She smudged her lipstick, but I thought that added a little bit of "toddler" to the picture!

Our FTP is WL woods view from 9/7-9/14 (value season) for 2 adults and 2 kids - $1972.23, tax included.

Get a load of my NEW TAG!!!
Lora, what a cutie-pie...she's gonna break some hearts in about 15 years; okay, maybe 25 years (I'm sure, if DAD has anything to say about it;) !)

For me? I bring my laptop. I can play DVD movies on it and we put a pair of headphones on her ears for the sound. Worked great last year, both going and coming, for our 22 month old. If you don't have a laptop, may I suggest you stop at Circuit City or Best Buy and purchase one of those portable DVD players. I kid you not when I tell you that it kept ours busy the whole trip. Juice boxes were a big hit as well. They have no patience for waiting for the stewardess so may as well be prepared! :)

Great picture! What a cutie! :)

BluOrchid2 / Lora,

She's beautiful!!!! Smudged lipstick and all :p

Ditto to what Fred said. I brought my laptop and played DVD's. Definately worth every penny to purchase a protable DVD player. Also, bring snacks for the plane ride as well as the wait in the airport!

Enjoy your trip! Be safe, be happy and most of all, think of all of us while you're there!

Thanks, guys! Hubby is planning to take his laptop which does play DVD's so I had just forgotten about that. I'm sure a movie will help a lot - but Ithink I need to go find a new one for her. She's seen all of hers a bout a million times!

Welcome to FL and I hope your trip is everything you want it to be and much more.

Thanks, Florida Cat!

I just have to share these room request letters I just typed up. The first one is ours, followed by one that I typed up for my inlaws' room.

Dear Cast Member,

My family and I are very excited to be returning to the Wilderness Lodge in a few days, this time bringing our parents with us! We have two children, and the bunk beds would work out great for us if we could possibly get a room with bunk beds. None of us smoke, either, so a nonsmoking room would really be appreciated.

As I said, we are traveling with our parents; their reservation is under Lou Welch, #XXXXXXXXXXX. We would love to have a connecting room next to their room, if at all possible, so the grandkids can run next door and pounce on grandma and grandpa first thing in the morning to get them on the move to go to Mickey!

Thank you in advance for any attention you can give to our requests, and we look forward to seeing you soon, at the Lodge!

and the one for my inlaws...

Dear Cast Member,

My wife and I will be visiting the Wilderness Lodge for the first time in a few days, and were hoping that we could make a couple of requests with regard to our room. We are traveling with our son and his family, and would like to share connecting rooms with them. The door between connecting rooms is lockable, isn’t it? They have children who get up very early in the morning, and although we love our grandchildren, we have no desire to go see Mickey at 6:00 a.m., which is what time they would come bounding into our room if we don’t lock them out. (wink, wink) My son’s reservation number is XXXXXXXXXXX.

We don’t smoke, so would prefer a nonsmoking room, if available.

Thank you in advance for any attention you can give to our requests, and we look forward to our first visit to the Lodge!

Does anyone think this is funny, or should I just play it straight?

Lodgers heading down FYI:
On the back of the lifegaurd Station there is a "white" board. Each morning they list that days park hours, weather and lodge activities.

I would address it "ATTENTION: Room Assigner." Suggestions on All Ears site is to do it three days before your check in date, so I would do it right away if you have not already done so.

If I had a Bell, I would ring it.
If I had a Cannon I would fire it.
If I had a band, I would play it.
If I had some Fireworks, I would shot them

All for the KEEPER OF THE WL FAQ THREAD.
