Majestic: Thanks so much for your great info, nope you didnt confuse me, though it can be done. LOL

QUOTE--Lastly, my wife and I have been thinking of getting into DVC but if we did, we would NOT get a Villa because we want and expect different things when we are on vacation (One of them is FULL maid service every day. That's just my opinion. YMMV) but we WOULD make WL our DVC home.

Hope I helped rather than confused. Either way, I hope you have a great time!!!--QUOTE

Dh and I agree with you on this point, I was a bit disappointed when we learned that full maid service is not included when you rent, when we are on vacation its nice to not have to do all the stuff I already do everyday with a family of 5. KWIM We will see I will have to let you all know how it went. :) Thank you again!!

Liv2CdWorld: Thanks for the info on paying for daily maid service, this is something we are seriously thinking about doing. After all, Im going on Vacation right??? Thanks again!

Kimmar:
QUOTE-- I think that, other than the slightly lengthier walk to the main pool/ gyeser/ marina, you will be pleased with VWL... QUOTE

I think you are right Kimmar... after all after all the walking we are going to be doing in the parks, a short walk to the pool/geyser/marina will be minimal. ;) Thank you Kimmar!!

Thanks again everyone. Only 18 days yahooooo!! Sorry couldnt resist. :)

Oh, I am SOOO jealous of some of these countdown clocks :)

...me too!:( ('specially since mine would have said EIGHT DAYS!!)

Oh, I am SOOO jealous of some of these countdown clocks ......

Ain't it the truth! But please know that I'm really happy for all of you. I find myself thinking of RatPack every day and wondering what his family is doing. Can't wait to hear about their trip.

FloridaCat

Woo Hoo! Another Disney trip, you deserve it! What a great daughter. Loved the Bobbalouie line.
Majestic
I think it's grand that you've already got next year's trip on the planning board. How cool is it to have Conciergie call? That would just jolt the excitement load into overdrive for me!
Kimmar
I'm really sorry you had to cancel your trip. I hope you'll be able to use the e-mail rate. It was really nice of you to speak to the tag fairy about the WL Vet tags. I hope you know how much your appreciated. This thread is the best. I love coming here and reading. Everyone is super nice and the info is incredible.
Welcome back to all of you that have recently returned.
Kathi

I really hate you had to change your pans. No chance of taking advantage of the new rates?

Ugg...we have like 43 days left and time is going slower and slower every day. The only thing that helps to take our minds off of the trip is the fact that we just had a nice 18x25 deck installed and a Tiger River Bengal hot tub delivered. The electrician is coming Friday to hook it all up. All that kinda helps clear the mind of Disney.....well.....at least for a little while. :)

Uh oh...

Must.....get.....my.......DISNEY.........FIX!!!! HHHHHHEEEEEELLLLLLPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!

I think of Ratpack every day also and wonder what they are doing as well! Does that make me really wierd? :p

We already got a few calls from concierge but to be honest, most of the talk has been through emails per a prior post I made. They have been fairly quick to answer and I feel that I can get more in writing than I gain in a conversation. Plus, I have a record of things we have discussed already. They also send updates at your request of what your current PS list is like.

Loving the concierge thing so far. Will judge more when we actually get down there to enjoy it! Be sure to hear from me when I get back witha trip report!

Uhh...that was bad....I got a sick feeling when I thought of coming home from the Lodge and we haven't even gone yet!

...won't HE be surprised when he comes back to find his new tag!!

A big 10-4 on the surprise tag. A big thanks to you from all of us that got "tagged". Sis ratted on you.

I hope Ratpack is OK today as we had some very serious TS last night all over the area. Bright and clear now, but more of the same this PM, according to AM weather forecast.

Any DISers heading down in the next few days, pack your slickers.

Majestic: Thants not wierd, When I sit out on th Patio and a plane comes over to landi at MCO, I wonder how many excited WDW people are on it.

I took her to SW when she was 6 YRS, during the Shamu show they announced that they were training a new Killer Whale, and they would be passing out passes as the space was limited. Before I knew Jack, she was out of her seat and run down to get one.

It was very interesting to me because of my many years training Dogs. On the way home she said, Gramps I want to do that, what will I have to do?. I told her she was seeing the Glamour part as working with animals is hard dedicated work. You have to love it in order to do it well. I told her the neat thing about making a living doing what you want to do is not work.

I advised her to get as much experience as she could with animals and she has done that. She did volunteer work with Pet Smart and was a “Foster Parent” for homeless animals. This was good experience for her as she learned proper diet, giving medication and cleaning the animals. Like DD says, I never know what she was going to bring in the door next.

A few years ago SW gave FL Residents a FREE annual pass. I got one for her and she could not spend enough time there. She could empty your wallet, feeding anything that was hungry.

In 1998 when AK opened we went down and she was more convinced that was what she wanted to do with her life. When we were in AK this month, she reminded me, Gramps I am going to do this some day. So many years ago when I was traveling across the west with a station wagon full of kids, introducing them to the land and wildlife, little did I think it would come to this point and the next generation. I am very proud it has.

Well she is now 17 and still has her dream and DD informed me this morning she is preparing to apply at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, FL. Santa Fe's Zoo Animal Technology Program is one of the tops in the Country .

So fellow Lodger's, please wish her good luck and PD. I told her if I live long enough to see her come up out of the water standing on Shamus nose; there would not be a hat large enough in the world that would fit on old Gramps head. LOL

Just wondering if anyone did/is doing the FTP at WL for 7 nights....I'm curious as to what the price would have been for 2 Adults and 2 kids. (Just trying to get an idea of how much of a bargain it would be if they were to ever offer it again in the future!) Thanks! :D

floridacat -

pixie dust and many, many prayers for your dgd. that is a very admirable profession. God bless her. you are a good gramps because you not only let her see the glamour but also the hard work that is involved. something she will work towards. it sounds like you have a wonderful family. "good people" like my italian grandma used to say.

again, good luck. :D

We booked the FTP at the WL for Sept. 20-27. We have 2 adults and 2 childern ages 6 & 9. Our room is a standard room and the total cost is $1883. September was a little less expensive using the FTP than early August or Oct. would have been. In 2001 we stayed for 4 nights with the Resort Magic Package and our total was $1856 for a wood's view. We think this is a huge deal!!!! We never thought we'd be able to afford a deluxe for 7 nights and with the FTP it was made possible. We are so thrilled to be heading back to WL!!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We're doing WL for 7 nights Sept 23-30th with 2 adults and 2 kids. (Remember, Sept is value season...) Our package includes airfare for 4 from LaGuardia plus town car round trip. Total is $2764.95. (I was getting the airfare for $600 - so eliminate that from the equation and it's about 2150 for 4 for WL 7 nights.)

OOH - what's my countdown timer???
