Hi, I already booked our first Disney vacation last week. My question is if I join AAA can I still call back and get that applied to my ressie? I booked the package deal with dining. Anybody that can help answer my question would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It would be room only - if you wanted to get a discount on the whole package than you would have to book through AAA - from what I understand but yes - you would be able to call back and get the price of your room adjusted to the AAA rate. :)

Sorry to sound so dense but do you mean I should call back WDW and they'll apply it or call AAA and redo the whole thing? sorry I sound so dumb but this is our very first Disney trip and some of this is so overwhelming. Thanks again.

Remember that you are not guarenteed a discount, with AAA or any other type of discount. I would call and see if there is anything available with a Discount, if that is the only reason you are planning on joining AAA.

You would call Disney and ask if there are any room's available with a Discount. Not sure how that would work with a package being book.

What they do is they alter your current reservation in some cases they would just re-do it. You would call Disney reservations and tell them that you want to use your AAA discount (they would tell you if they have any remaining rooms at the AAA rate at your preferred resort) they would apply the discount to room (only) and then make the package deal separate. If you wanted to book everything with an AAA discount you would have to do that from your local AAA office. What you might want to do is call Disney reservations and say that you are just curious and could they give you a quote for the package that you chose and your AAA discount to the room - how much would it cost? and see if there is any difference. I hope this helps - I'm writing this fast so if you have any questions feel free to PM me. :)

Thank you all for your help. You cleared it up for me Jodi, thanks again. I'm going to call today and see what they say. It may be beneficial for me to join AAA.

Disneychrista is correct. You are not automatically guaranteed a discount with AAA--there are a limited number of rooms available per resort on any given date at the AAA rate. Once they are all booked, it's too late and you may end up stuck with paying the rack rate.

But it is definitely worthwhile to check regarding availability--with Disney, with your local & other AAA offices, and with one or more of the Disney specialist travel agencies. Our agent at 'The Magic for Less Travel' was able to get us a room rate that was slightly better than 20% off of rack rates. And she will keep checking for us, in case an even better deal comes along between now and our October trip.

Don't be shy about using a Disney specialist TA. We always just assumed it would be less expensive to handle all of our own ressies and ticket purchases. But the TA's can actually find you much better discounts in many cases, will make all of your room requests, PS arrangements, etc. for you... and it's all FREE OF CHARGE.

No problem - I went through the same thing earlier this year and what made it even more confusing is that the amount of days that I wanted to stay AAA did not have it loaded in the computer at first - they do now and I did get a very good deal - I'm happy with it :)

Good luck! :)
