Personally, I think this is a huge ripoff. But I suppose there might be huge Idol fans out there who would do this? :confused3

Thoughts?

Eh. I can see American Idol fans doing this. I wonder how many people the $49 price covers for the VIP seating. It's not something I'd pay for, but I know some big A.I. fans that probably would.

I still don't get the A.I. thing and Disney though. Boggles my mind that they couldn't come up with something alot better...and Disney related  for that space and the money.

Personally, I think it's stupid and a big waste of money. I just got back from WDW last week, and I was really surprised at how they are pushing this. I don't know why it surprised me, of course, they will be pushing their newest thing, but after about the 8th sign I saw advertising it and the AI t-shirts in Club Cool in Epcot, I just thought, "Enough is enough." Although, I did hear some people (teenage girls) who sounded excited to try out for the show. Maybe I just don't understand because I've never watched the tv show.:confused3

I'm with you. We like to watch AI, but have 0 desire to go see this. I am a music teacher and performer and DH is also, but we would never even think about spending almost a whole day dedicated to this in trying to win it.

I just don't get what is so exciting about going backstage at a stage. You will see rooms, a makeup chair, etc. Maybe I just take that for granted since I am used to performing and being "backstage" but you aren't even seeing "real" Idols for heavens' sakes. . . Not worth $50 or $100 IMHO.

But I am sure some of you disagree with me and that is ok. :)

the whole thing is so silly.

Disney needs to focus on their product, period. That doesn't mean "their" product as in the companies they are affiliated/partnered/whatever'd with, we want DISNEY in our parks, thank you.

Just wanted to add, I'd would pay extra for backstage passes/tour and meet and greet with the performers from FOTLK! :)

Eh...one person's ripoff is another person's golden opportunity. There are lots of things at Disney that are offered that I wouldn't pay to do and I'm sure there are things I have paid to do at Disney that others wouldn't give a second thought to.

It's just another one of those things.

I am also a fan of American Idol and I loved watching it. But paying for that package, I'll think it first, DH might disagree. :lmao:
