Al Lutz of MiceAge has another DLR update today. Here is a link: http://miceage.micechat.com/allutz/al022112a.htm

I am on my way to the airport so no time to read it yet myself! Hopefully later today. Enjoy. Or not. :)

Note: Al Lutz does not work for Disney. His posts are not Disney announcements. He has solid contacts inside Disney and is helpful in giving an indication of what Disney is planning and considering. People planning vacations should be very cautious about making plans based on Al's articles. That is not what they are intended for. Rather, Al tries to give an insider view of what Disney is thinking and planning for those interested in what the future may hold. This can and does change over time.

Here is the disclaimer that Al has at the end of his article.

Keep in mind updates only get posted when there is something to report on, and not before. It takes time to confirm things, and even then we can only offer a snapshot of a continually evolving story. (People do change their minds you know.) Just like the happiest place on earth, patience is a virtue; the queue may take a while before you can enjoy the attraction.

Very interesting! I am especially excited to hear more about AP previews in June as we will be there the 6th-10th but could possibly change our dates a little if we get the chance at an AP preview day.

We are going in July and I'm wondering how hard it will be to get in to the Carthay Cirlce restaurant this summer.

we are going to be there the 9th-16th, i really wish we could change our dates now..ugghh. sounds like it will be a mad house that week with DCA being open and closed at random times.

What happens on the CM preview days? Those are the days we are scheduled to be there, and I'm not worried about not getting to see Carsland if it isn't open yet to the public, but I am a little worried about the park closing or closing early. I'm kind of hoping this will keep the crowds at a lower level during our visit, maybe people will wait until they can see the new areas.

We'll be there, too, third week in July. I'm excited to see all the changes...but a little nervous of the crowds! Does anyone know which of the Carsland rides will have FP?

I am really excited to see the changes in DCA. BVS sounds really neat! My Mom and I are going to be there from the 10th to the 12th. We are hoping it won't be too busy, and people will be waiting a couple days for their DLR vacations. That was a really interesting article.

I heard Radiator Springs Racers will have FP.

We're going in September, and the news that Indiana Jones is going under later this year is a little worrying. That's a staple in our family. BTMRR, not so much, but it would still be a bummer to miss it.

Wow, there was a ton of information in that link. It definitely has me worried about my October trip, though. There is a chance that BTMRR, Alice, and Indy will all be down then, further impacting the remaining rides along with the extra CL tourism. I'm definitely excited to see what the future holds, however, and am glad to see that DL is such a corporate priority right now over WDW.

Yep all those waiting until Fall to see Carsland may regret that decision. I'm glad we decided to wait until right before Christmas.

I am really glad we are going the beginning of December... sounds like there may be more than the typical amount of rides down in the fall... and hopefully they will be back up again by the time we get there. I can live without BTMRR, as my dd doesn't like it... even though I do... but I would be sad to miss Alice or Indy... *fingers crossed* I guess! :thumbsup2

Not thrilled about the possability of BOTH BTMRR and Indy being down during our 9/22 trip but its the trade off we have to make in order to enjoy the lower crowds that we love. I've got my fingers crossed that BTMRR will be open at least but I'm not holidng my breath.

Nothing happens that affects regular guests. There is a pecking order at the parks and before outsiders are allowed to ride the CMs expect to be able to ride. It also allows DLR to test the ride with riders even though the show elements are not all in place yet. And to train the new CMs.

I'm so bummed :( We have a late Oct. trip planned but one of the reasons we are wanting to go back to DL is to do the rides that aren't at WDW. Alice is my favorite ride (stemming from my childhood) and we all LOVED Indiana Jones last year. We lived through last fall not having Pirates or California Screamin- and I know there is plenty more to do, but I do worry about the crowd levels with all of those attractions closed. May need to rethink and maybe go a little later. I totally get the trade off of going off season- but I would be very sad to miss those rides!

Thanks!

I'm thrilled to hear that they're doing the extra cast member training and spending extra $$ to bring in that bit of personalized Disney magic.
A VERY good trend!
(now let's all make them really profitable so they keep it up ):)

HydroGuy states this in his first post, but just a reminder that seems worth stating from some of the posts in this thread.

Al Lutz does not work for or with Disney. He is a member of the media. If you read his articles closely you will see the frequent use of the words such as "likely" "possibly" "might" "could" "may," and other variants of the concept that nothing here is for certain.

Do not get too excited or too upset about anything Al writes until you hear it from Disney. Al has contacts and researches rumors, leaks, and any information that is out there, but Disney has not officially released sooooo much of what Al has stated in this writing that I would HATE to see anyone make or change plans based off of his, hmm, what's the word, writings.

There is a ton of information, but a LOT of it is not confirmed and not official. Disney can and does shift dates, adjust plans, and change things between when first conceived and when actually executed. Could those three be down when Al says? Yes. Could they not be? Yes. And Disney has people that focus on WDW as well (i.e. Fantasyland expansion).

Yup, that's why I'm taking Al's 'news' into advisement, but I won't be changing my travel dates until official word comes from Disney (probably early-to-mid summer).

So if we are there when they are doing AP previews, how will they control other park guests from riding (me!)?
Any chance those staying on property could be included in the previews?

I know its all speculation, but just curious what the thoughts might be around this for other guests when AP previews are going on?

thanks in advance.
