New Akv Owner....

I'm so excited! After months of deciding, finally convinced my husband we need a "home" in Disney! We're heading home in May! I can't wait! We haven't told our kids yet. They are 9, 6 and 4 - they will jump through the roof! Do you guys think we're crazy for buying without actually visiting AKV?

Nope! I bought at BLT and they aren't even open yet.

You will love AKV. It is so beautiful there!

My kids love animals so I think this will be awesome. I keep checking out the rooms on the dvc website - I love them! Wasn't hubbies first choice, but I told him we can stay at other places too!

We bought BCV without visiting. We had stayed at AKL before buying AKV, but had not toured the AKV rooms before buying. I think your childrent will LOVE being at AKV, and like you said, you can stay at other DVC's, although you may not want to after staying at AKV.

We ate at Boma and Jiko on our honeymoon 6 years ago. We just bought in at AKV this year without ever staying there. I went with the kiddos this past October and it was AWESOME! I absolutely fell in love with it! We weren't planning on another trip until Spring 2010, but I really wanted to spend more time at the resort without focusing so much on the parks. We booked a trip for this June and we're planning on trying to take in all that the resort has to offer. There are so many free activities for kids (and adults) that are offered on a daily basis. I can't wait to do the cookie decorating .

We bought before visiting AKV Oct. 2007. We had been to Boma's for breakfast, but had never stayed at the resort. We made our 1st trip "home" last May. We absolutely loved our villa. We had so much room, I felt like we were in heaven. I love our home and am so glad we purchased. Our kids loved it also, and I have kids very similar to yours.

We took our first visit to Disney last May and loved it. The crowds were not bad at all. We also went to Pirates and Princess - that was awesome. My DD still talks about us riding the Barnstormer at 11:45 p.m 4 times in a row!! We can't wait to actually stay on disney property at our "home" !

You arent crazy. My fiance and I have never stayed at AKL...we just couldnt justify paying 400 a night for a savanna view room. We could justify DVC because we thought...at least in the long run this will benefit us and we wont just be throwing money away. We toured the rooms at SSR this past vacation and I became OBSESSED. we bought on 12/17/08!

We also bought without seeing AKL. We are so happy about it. I also want the AKL logo thing.
We can't wait. We are using developer points in 31 days at SSR and we are going without the kids in Dec and staying a AKL.

Congratulations and welcome home! Bought bay lake site unseen and have yet to even visit snimal kingdom as we have only been to wdw one time.
We have a May trip scheduled on developer points and a concierge trip planned in December!!
