New AK bird show

its just my opinion but i found new UP show boring. Brung back FOW which was informative and entertaining

I had never seen FOW, but saw the new show last week. It wasn't bad, but I did go in expecting the birds to fly more. I'll shave to find some videos of FOW to see what it used to be like.

We saw the new show on 5/5 and one of the main birds of the show flew out of the "stadium". They had no backup plan and the performer did her best to fill the show with facts but people started leaving the "stadium" during the show. I would say a good 1/3 of the crowd left during the performance. Out of respect to the performers we stayed to the end but we did not enjoy the new show. We joked that it was so bad that even the birds left.

This is sad news. We always enjoyed FOW. They included beautiful birds. The pre-show was informative. While the story of our intrepid, FOB-suffering tour guide was silly, it was so good-natured that you had to smile. It's sad to think that even this seems to be dumbed down.

We love the FOW show, it was a must do for us all the time.

I too watched it on video to see if it was interesting, since I am going in a few weeks. Didn't look entertaining at all. I will only go see it if I have some time to kill.

Btw Nemo is the best nap place in AK. I thought it was just me....until I looked around and saw more than 20 adults dozing. The a/c feels so good it just puts you to sleep in there.

We only went to Nemo during our first trip, it was a great nap but we felt guilty and never went back

Haven't seen it in person, but watched 2 different videos, hoping with time it would get better. Not yet.
Doesn't seem to have as much with the birds as the old show. And the characters don't really seem to have a purpose ther except to kill time. And the hosts seemed even worse.
Hopefully, with time, they can improve it and make it a fun show to watch.

We watched the youtube of the new UP show. Its pretty sad. Even the kids like the old show FOW much better. We will give it a chance in person in a couple of weeks when we go but I don't see it as being a repeat for us. We could go to FOW multiple times.
I agree, Nemo is a snooze fest. Bores me. We do enjoy the Festival of the Lion King. My daughter is in love with the tumble monkeys.

That's sad to hear. We loved FOW. We will still check out UP, but will miss FOW.

Yeah, Wifey, who loved FOW and insisted on a viewing every trip said, 'Too much talking, too few birds'. We'll check it out this Oct but I suspect this will be one of those 'One and Done' attractions.

so sad to hear this. While we didn't "love" FOW, we did enjoy it and were hoping the new Up show would be a decent replacement. Apparently not. FWIW, we used to LOVE Tarzan Rocks, but find Nemo to be a huge bore. Hmmm... maybe AK should be paying attention to this!

Wow didn't hear about this change until just now. Glad we saw FOW on our last trip; it was really great. I like Up a lot so hopefully I will like the new show too.

I'd say they were on par with one another from polling the family. Just saw it this morning and I probably prefer the new show. The only problem I had is the same as the old one and that is the seating (which obviously didn't change). I struggle to make it through that length of show with no backs.

The old show's script badly needed refreshing, but this new version is getting almost unanimous pans. Already time for another revamp.
