New 2009 Theme Decorations

What is taking them so long!? :confused3 I hope they have everything out by the time we get there in March. I loved all the decor from Dland...I hope WDW gets it together shortly.

I can't wait to see the new decorations-hopefully they'll have them up by the time we go in April.:rotfl2:

Well everyone I just got back from my birthday celebration. I was a little surprised to see how “un celebrate today, celebrate everyday” decorated the park was. The only Celebrate today decorations I saw were at the rose garden as well. The Pop Century Resort was still using Christmas cups and YOAMD mugs.

At Magic Kingdom I noticed they were using the new celebrate everyday napkins same with Hollywood Studios. I did not see any new cups being used at the parks. I had dinner on my birthday at the Polynesian hotel and the waiter was nice enough to bring me a new celebrate everyday cup. She said the cups were still not being used because they still have materials from YOAMD and Christmas.

I spotted some YOAMD signs still up in some park areas and resorts. As mentioned above by someone else I am disappointed that those celebrating in January missed out. The selection of merchandise is very limited as of right now. The only location I noticed that had celebrate today merchandise was MK. All merchandise had the same logo. Also the will call windows had a celebrate today window decal. It had balloons and the park’s main focus. Such as AK had the tree, Epcot had the ball and so on. No I was not able to get a picture of these… sorry. Also the will call windows had a celebrate today window decal. It had balloons and the park’s main focus. Below you will see the cupcakes they are giving to those celebrating a birthday. They are part of the celebrate today campaign. The cupcake was free and brought to my table without anyone asking the server too. The card had signatures of all the characters who participated in the character breakfast. I noticed at dinner the table next to me received the cupcake but no card, so I think the cards only come with those who choose character dinning. (Click to see larger image)

The only decoration on the Magic Kingdom Parade. I have to admit this was my first time watching the MK parade during the day and I was not impressed… I actually enjoy the Parade Bash at Hollywood Studios more. (Click to see larger image)

The napkins follow the same outline of the cup. (Click to see larger image)

The new bags (I only saw them being used at MK) Side One (Click to see larger image)

The only decorations I saw at the Walt Disney World Resort. Located at the Magic Kingdom near the rose garden.

Finally some pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wooo Hoooo!

I'm a little excited, can you tell?
Thx for the pics:thumbsup2

If you have not seen it here is the all "NEW" Celebrate A Dream Come True Parade.

Not sure what to think of this parade!! Maybe I need to watch it in person. The first float is pretty cool looking.

From what I see here, it does not "look" much different. It seems mostly like the same parade with a different audio track.

I will also need to see it in person.

We are in WDW and I have to say that I really like the parks in their simplistic form without all the decorations everywhere. We have seen many light poles with the Celebrate theme, but its not over-done and its a nice change. I am not personally one who feels that the parks need all the excess decorations, I like it just the way it is!

I was also at the World today, and saw the Celebrate banners, at Magic Kingdom, and all over Epcot. I did not see any Year of a Million Dreams banners or decorations anywhere. I agree with the previous poster, sometimes less is more :)

We just got back today. The only things I saw were the signs at the Rose Garden in MK, new napkins though I can't remember which parks we got them at other than MK, and new bags. We only got the new bags at MK. At the other parks and DtD we got old bags. I was rather disappointed. Though I'm fine with the parks in their natural states, there is a new celebration and I felt that Disney was just being lazy in not getting it going for us January guests. It's like we're not important or something. :rotfl2:

This will probably be our last January visit. It was far more crowded than in years past. If I have to deal with some crowds then I'm not trading good weather to do it. We had some nice days, a few really cold days, and a hot day or two, no rain. Not terrible weather, but variable. I think from here on out we'll stick with October. :goodvibes

Thanks for this link, but as what others said, it seems not that different from other parades. It's better to see it in our next trip. I'm excited again. :)

Just got back and saw this parade... they were interchanging between Celebrate and DCT.
The floats are primarily the same. The music is different. Many Characters are missing. The casual walking characters- Piglet, Tigger Eeyore, Meeko, Brer bear etc are not in the celebrate parade. The Celebration Dancers are between floats. The female dancers hand out their streamers at the end of the set.
Snow White is with her prince and Dopey only, No other dwarves. Peter Pan and Wendy are paired with Alice and the Mad Hatter.

Mickey and Minnie lead off the parade and look great- but I prefer them being the highlight at the end!
It had a combined feel of DCT and BBP but the BBP portion (where they stop and dancers sing and dance) did not involve characters.

It was a nice parade, but I preferred DCT.

Also new to us was a face character Captain Hook and Smee for the forecourt stage- not sure how new this is, but it was odd to see face characters here and then non face characters in Adventureland. Had my daughter doubting all the characters.

I will add WL and GF still had the Dreams Come True banners up at their main entrances and bus stops? You would think they would remove these from such obvious places?
We also got the DCT refillable mug. very disappointed in that.
MK aloso only had the new bags, cups and napkins, which I didn;t care for. I do like the new photoalbums and scrapbook with the CELEBRATE EVERYDAY SLOGAN - I bought a scrapbook.

That's what I thought when I saw the video. I did like the first float
