$30 per day is way, way too expensive for the CS plan for us.
Figure $1 per day for the mug on our 14-day trips.
Figure $6 per day for the two snacks.
And figure max of $20 per day for the two CS meals.
At best, if we tried to "maximize" the plan by over-eating, we'd break even or save a buck or two.
We'll be sticking with cash, and saving real money by sharing meals about half the time.
If you always get a large drink and dessert with your CS meal, the price comparisons I just did averages out where the refillable mug and snacks essentially end up being free. Individual eating habits will determine whether or not the new QS Meal Plan is worthwhile.
For Example:
Pecos Bill's
Double Cheeseburger w/Fries $7.59
Large Drink $2.39
Peanut Butter Brownie Mousse $3.59
Subtotal: $13.57 + tax
Flametree BBQ
1/2 Slab of St. Louis Ribs $8.99
Large Drink $2.39
Chocolate Cake $3.59
Subtotal: $14.97 + tax
(Of course, this was using the most expensive items on the menu.)
ok I can't find anything on the US site that speaks to the 09 dining plan but from what people have said the $29.99 price is coming from reports off the UK site.
I ran the exchange calc from what the UK pays now for the base dining plan vs the US price and they are paying almost $2 more per day per person for the dining plan. So possibly the dining plan for US would be $27.99 per day for the CS?
Still not a value but more along the lines of possibly breaking even if you got expensive CS meals.
Like I said in my pp, you can do the math by getting quotes from the WDW website. I did not use the UK website.
A 1 night package for 1 adult at the GF (it's the 1st resort that pops up) with no dining comes up to $736.22 for the 1st week of Feb. When you add each dining plan the prices increase as follows - $766.21 for QS (a difference of $29.99), $776.21 for DDP (a difference of $39.99), and $808.21 for DxDP (a difference of $71.99). You can do the same to figure out the pricing for the child prices.
I hope this can clear up some things for you.![]()
