I'm sure I'm just an idiot...but are you putting the potatoes back on the stovetop wiht butter and sugar? I LOVE LOVE sweet potatoes and I'm always up for new ways to fix em. I am just trying to picture exactly what is going to boil. However, I say anything that is full of butter and sugar sounds good to me!! So, I'm going to try it no matter how you tell me to do it.

Yeah thats it!

I cut the potatoes and boil them just until they start to get soft-Then I drain and put it back into the same pan adding a stick of butter and let it melt then add about a half a bag of dark brown sugar-I stir gently to get the sugar moistened and the potatoes coated and let it boil until the potatoes start to soften a little bit more--Don't let the potatoes get to soft because they will fall apart--When they are done and in the bowl before serving you can add mini marshmallows to the top,I don't but some people like them.

The amount of potatoes you make will decide how much butter and sugar you add-less potatoes=less butter and sugar//more=more

If you add to much butter you can just add more sugar to thicken it up--It's better to start small and eyeball it and add more as you think it's needed

But that's it-it's easy and everyone loves them!

You know, sometimes people actually do find it helpful to know there are other threads out there on the same topic. I've posted something similar before - no snarkiness intended.

Thats cool Disykat, I just see no need to get so offended it if a topic was repeated :confused3 After all, haven't they all been done to a cetain degree.

I don't know if SeeDisney meant to be snarky or not. :confused3 She may very well have just been trying to be helpful. I think it was the wording though of her first sentence that set some people off. If it had been phrased as "Maybe you could try a search" or "I saw another thread about this. You might try the search function for some ideas" then I can't see people responding the way they did.
