We have done more Disney trips than I can even remember. And for most of those trips it was quick weekend trips. Waking up at 5am Saturday morning, driving 3 hours north on the FL Turnpike, spending the day in the parks, crashing by 8pm, waking up doing more parks, and leaving by 2-3pm to drive another 3 hours south on the FL Turnpike. And even though there is something magical about Disney and seeing the kids in sheer bliss, it was exhausting to say the least.
A few years back we also started cruising and going to Disney less. We had a great time enjoying a "real" vacation. But this year we have decided to split our vacations between Disney and a week at Siesta Key with family. We bought our FL seasonal passes a couple months ago but just started booking trips a few weeks ago. First and foremost, each trip must be a minimum of 2 nights....I want one day that we are not driving on the dreaded Turnpike. Also we are going to "experience" Disney.
So I start planning and find these boards which remind me of my countless posts and hours spent on Cruise Critic in years past. Now the excitement starts! Then I convince DH to let me book a few deluxe resorts and forget it, the excitement is full blown
The kids are getting older and now enjoy sitting down for a TS, so I am thrilled to be making ADR's, besides CRT for DD's bday, which we did for a few years.
I am beyond excited for the Yacht Club and Stormalong Bay
My cruise neurosis and planning has now shifted to Disney planning and I LOVE IT!!!
I just had to share my excitement somewhere that someone would understand
