:Pinkbounc Were going to Disney World!!!!! Iam going with my best friend and her 7 year old son . Iam also taking my 3 yr old nephew . I have not stayed at this hotel before, and I have no clue where to ask for my room . The boys will both be tired by the end of the day so Iam not looking forward to a bunch of stairs or long walks to the room . I know I will have to give up something though because I would like them to see the fireworks from the window.
Any help would be great

Make sure you are on the MK side (North Side - Artist's Point) and on 5th or 6th floor (apparently some rooms you can see lower from). It is a great hotel and the pool is great as well - the lobby is amazing.

To minimize walk to boat launch and if you do not mind stairs try for room like #5004 - this will put you right at the stairs to the closest exit to the boat launch but furthest from the elevator - we stayed in room #2004 - fireworks not a priority but access to boat launch and pool was - only one flight of stairs so ok for us.

I think you will love it.

Stayed there (DH - me) with DW and DS (3 1/2) and he loved it!!!

Thanks
Jason

I had a standard view on the 5th floor overlooking the smoke house and we had a clear view of the fireworks every night. It was a total surprise for us.

In case you don't have a view of the fireworks from your room I believe you can go up on the roof and see them there. What will also be something to watch for is the Electrical Water Pageant that passes by every night at about 9:35. It's electrical floats with music and will be a treat for the young ones. If they're up! Enjoy!:Pinkbounc

Anywhere from the 4th floor up on MK side should see the fireworks.

STAY AWAY FROM THE STAIRWELLS!!!! We had a room near the stairwells one year and it was EXTREMELY noisey. You don't realize how many people actually use the stairs until you hear the door SLAMMING ALL NIGHT!! Especially when you have kids.....

The resort is the best IMHO.

Agree with previous posters -- 5th floor or higher. Roaring Forks wing (the side closest to MK). We prefer Courtyard view because we like to sit on the balcony and watch the geyser, waterfalls, and lake. Plus like to watch EWP, which passes by at 9:30, from our room.

The only time WL guest have access to the roof is when you are a flag family!

Thanks, I'd never been up there myself but heard about others. Do they get to stay up there to watch the fireworks or just flag duty?

The boys would probably enjoy the bunkbeds-you may want to request this. You can even request guardrails for them.

We were Flag family a week ago Sunday. It was in the morning to raise the flags, but I have heard of others being Flag Family in the evening to take down the flags. I think that would be at sunset so you wouldn't still be on the roof for fireworks. We were on the roof for about 20 minutes. They let us raise The U.S., Florida and Disney flags and the Ranger raised 2 Wilderness Lodge Flags.

I had read about Flag family on this site and asked at check in. She pulled out a binder and there were 2 times available. So we chose the day we checked out since we weren't going to the parks that day. It was a great way to end the trip.

Last week they sent our daughters each a Magical Moments certificate with there names on it stating that they had raised the flags.

Our room was on the south side,5th floor, room 5145 and we were able to see the fireworks above the north side of the Wilderness Lodge. This was a courtyard view with a balcony and we were able to watch the Electrical Water parade on the lake also from our balcony.

Thank you all for your help. Keep thinking I need just the right room

We were in room #5012 on the North side of the building. This was a bunk bed room and we had a great view of the fireworks. It was also fairly quiet. We had a quick walk to the elevator that is very close to Roaring Forks. This was a perfect location.

Well I have tried in vain to get a upgrade to the 7th floor and i keep getting told that it is just not available. So I once again need help with finding the perfect room at the Lodge.
We dont want bunk beds because my friends son needs to be near her at night for medical reasons. We would like one that he can see the EP at night as it floats by the WL , and the maybe the fireworks at night from his bed. He has some health issues that we will be dealing with while there. So any help would be great !

Thanks for any and all help !

Wishing you all a Tagged night , cause Tagging is just cool !
