I ordered in the Best Buy store last Friday a PS Vita for my DS that they do not carry in the store. Sunday, I saw that Radio Shack had the same item online for $40 less. Today, I called the number for online ordering at Best Buy to see if they would price match the sale. I learned something I did not know that they do not price match all companies. Radio Shack is one of the companies that they do not price match even bough there is a local store in town. I said that I understood but they did offer a $25 good faith price adjustment. I was pleased. This is why I like Best Buy.

I've only price matched at best buy once, but it was a simple, easy transaction. I wanted a lifeproof case for my phone and amazon was selling it for $40. But, the reviews warned that sometimes the genuine product was not sent. Best Buy was selling them for $80-$90. I printed a screen shot, took the case up to the register, the cashier checked amazon's price on-line and then gave me the discount.

I have price matched several times but never any issues. However it was always in the store never over the phone though.

Best Buy is quiet active at the moment and they already offering Black Friday prices on Major Appliances. I think they want to grasp more revenue this time :)

I have found Best Buy to go above and beyond for price matching. Last year I was buying an Xbox and TV for our den and not only did they match Target's price for a similar model TV, they also took off the 5% I would have gotten as well. Later that year our fridge went out and everyone was telling us a week to two weeks to get a new one, Best Buy offered next day. We took a phone snap of the one we liked at Lowe's making sure to get the SKU and price then found one similar at Best Buy. They didn't even blink that it wasn't the exact same model, gave us the price + the % off sale they were having and threw in the extended warranty. I had my fridge the next day as promised. If I want something price matched I just head on over to Best Buy. :goodvibes

best buy will downright haggle on prices. we needed to replace our tv and researched the price range on the models we were interested in then went to our local best buy. started out (intentionally) looking at less expensive models with the sales person and 'let him' talk us into looking at the ones we were really interested in. when he thought we were hooked I told dh that we should just wait and see if one of the competitors was going to have a better deal in the next couple of weeks. salesman talked up the price match guarantee but I said I didn't want to hassle with that and with gas prices it wasn't worth it for me to run back and forth to take care of it after the fact. result, despite the tv being at a very good sales price we negotiated another 10% off. dh during this point started looking at higher end blue ray players and started expressing an interest, I played meanie and said 'we only came in to get a tv, if you feel we need that we need to just walk away and wait until we have the funds'. salesman offered to reduce the cost of the blue ray (not on sale at the time) by about 30%. I replied that I couldn't see the sense of getting a blue ray right now since we had no discs. and I wasn't going to put out another chunk on those. salesman offered us 2 discs of our choice for free. I agreed to the deal.

capper was when we went to do the deal at the register and the guy started talking up the calibration that 'is really needed to set up a tv of that quality'. I said I was over it and all the additional costs we hadn't planned on and started to walk out. salesman stops me, talks to 'the manager' and calibration is thrown in free::yes::::yes::

I worked in an electronics store when I was younger, there's HUGE wiggle room for sales staff to work with and often individual companies are offering sales staff cash bonuses on every one of their products they move out the door (so they may lose a bit on their commission, but if they are getting a flat $50 bonus for getting me to buy company x vs. company y they still end up ahead).

Best Buy recently offered me a price match on an Amazon bundled item (which they technically don't price match due to the bundling agreement) but with one substitution. The item they wanted to sub mattered to me so we went with Amazon but the staff really did try to find a match solution. Good service ;)

We got a discount on the new TV stand when we purchased the TV. We never had a problem showing a price on the phone to get the price match in the store. Even last black friday, they price matched the $8 3D blu ray of Brave (maybe it was Tangled). It was a flash sale online, and only lasted minutes before the movie was sold out. I was happy Best Buy honored the print out.

I always try to get better deals at Best Buy as I know for a fact they do not get Commission fro sales so the sales person is losing nothing....
