We're in the process of buying BCV and are excited about becoming members of DVC. We plan on vacationing at Disney every couple years at least for many years to come and know this was a smart decision. However, we never had an official tour or met with anyone from DVC. Have we missed out on anything important that our welcome books won't tell us about? We have a trip planned in Sept. Would it be wise to try and meet with someone from DVC at that time even though by then we will be members? Your feedback is appreciated. Thank You.

My BIL/SIL were DVC members prior to us joining, so I knew a decent amount about the program before we toured. So, if you already have a basic understanding of how things work, I personally do not think you are missing anything. I learned more on these boards and through other websites about DVC than I ever did through their books, literature or tours.

If you just want to walk around SSR, look at the AKV/BLT rooms and have some ice cream, take the tour! Beware, though, it's very tempting to add on! ;)

Congratulations on your pending purchase! Wishing you an early...

party: :welcome: HOME!!! party:

We bought sight unseen and don't have any regrets :cloud9:. We received the DVD and booklets in the mail, did my research (mostly on these boards) talked about it for almost 2 years and knew it was right for us. We did, however, tour the models at both BWV and SRR on our visit month, and as PP stated and I caught addonitisv:rolleyes1 I have resisted the temptation but it isn't easy!!

Sure you can tour the models, etc. :goodvibes And also, you can always check out Welcome Home Wednesday's at Atlantic Dance Hall at BW when you make your first trip home - it's most every Wednesday at 4pm (DVC info, light snacks, DVC trivia game w/some prizes) - it's fun to check it out if you are in the area and you will be as BCV owner ::yes:: !!

Best wishes :)

We also bought without seeing and don't regret our decisio one bit. We stayed at SSR las Dec. on developer points so we toured the models then, but we were already AKV owners!:goodvibes

Once you buy, even resale you will automatically be assigned a Guide. The tour and your Guide are there to sell you DVC points. No reason to tour unless you just want to check things out.
