Never been to US before looking for some help

My fiancee and I are taking an extended vacation next September, and he just put his foot down that the entire thing is not to be spent on Disney property and he wants to go to Universal Studios, because he's a huge movie and comics fan. So he and I have slated two days for US and IOA. Now here's the help I need. Has anyone stayed at the Wellesley? Is it really within walking distance of the park? Also is the 2 day 2 park ticket are best bet, what if we finish one park in less than a day can we switch between parks in a single day. Lastly what are the express passes and how do they work. I feel like a complete dunce on anything beyond Disney. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Welcome to the UIS!

First of all I'd wouldn't say that the Wellesley was "walking" distance. I shared a shuttle with that hotel when I stayed at the Radisson and it's a hike. At least for ME it would be. They do offer the shuttle so you mind consider it.

The two day ticket works like a Disney hopper pass. It can be used both days for both parks.

Holly - I'm don't know anything about the hotel you're talking about but wanted to tell you to try getting an entertainment card rate for Hard Rock Hotel. Since you're not going until Sept. you might be able to get a $117. rate. That would give you front of the line access all day! I waited too late for entertainment rate, but still got a good rate of $139 on www.travelnow.com

We're going in 2 weeks and I can't wait!!

The Wellesley Inn is definitely NOT within walking distance. Some of the hotels along Major Blvd are, especially the radisson and the Holiday Inn.
