As you know, earlier we weren't hungry for the cupcake at the bakery and it was so hot in the afternoon that we needed a snack break. We headed to Dawalla Drink stand for frozen Cokes. I know. I know. Another coke snack credit!

I was so distracted by the details in the place that I could hardly order – the CMs got a kick out of my appreciation for their workspace though.

We sat in this cute little hut behind the drink stand, with a view of the water and shaded. It was the most refreshing Slurpee of my life!

We had planned to have dinner at Downtown Disney tonight, but we were so tired we decided just to stay at the resort that evening.

After the mystery of the number outside Indiana Jones was solved, I wonder if anyone knows what the date here means?

While we had planned to go to Downtown Disney this night, Saturday night. We found we just didn't feel like getting dressed up and waiting for the bus. Instead we enjoyed the pool as long as we could and had a late dinner at the resort.

I had planned on Cooke's since we have been making a trip to Raglan's once every trip to WDW lately. And Wolfgang's is also supposed to be a great quick service meal option.

For dinner we sat at “our table” on the porch watching the water.

DSis decided to have the salmon which I had the night before with broccoli and mac-and-cheese as the side (which she promptly combined) and the monkey cupcake (which was peanut butter frosting on chocolate cake with mashed banana cream in the center).

I went to the pasta line and came out with chicken fettuccine with alfredo sauce. I wasn’t sure whether to have alfredo or marinara and the nice CM said the alfredo was her favorite.

She told me everything but the pizza is made on site and you can taste that things are freshly made. I was pleased. I also had the dirt cake for dessert – since when DSis had it I only got the tiniest taste.

I enjoyed the dinner.

great qsdp - we always find the cs meals a chore in finding something different so looking forward to your reviews and recommendations :goodvibes:

Thanks! I think it's so neat you live in the UK. I watch Graham Norton on BBCAmerica and it makes me want to be British just so I can understand more of the jokes! And to understand what some of the guests are saying - the accents kill me!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Well we're a heinz 57 of accents in this house - I originate from the land of Cheryl Cole, my parents are from Yorkshire (not sure how to describe that one to you lol) and dh is a Brummie (think Mr and Mrs Weasley in Harry Potter) - we live in East Anglia and think we are now pretty accent-free but I'm fairly sure you'd disagree.;)

Hi Faline,

That cupcake was made for DSis. She was born under the Chinese sign Monkey and even before anyone in the family read that on a restaurant menu, we've all called her the monkey in the family (in any playground you would find my little sister up in the monkey bars). Anyway she first grabbed the cupcake off the shelf at Old Port Royale Market Place because of the name.

But it really was good for her beyond the name. She found the frosting creamy and peanut buttery and the cake - dark and rich chocolate. She was surprised when she bit into it to find the banana cream core and she described it to me as mashed bananas and cream - there were chunks of little banana in it - not just cream. She loved it.

I don't care for peanut butter so I just took her word for it.

They did rotate and change up the dessert offerings at Old Port Royale - sometimes there were strawberries and chocolate sauce, fruit tarts, various krispy treats, and at least two types of cupcakes. I was impressed with the fact the food was made on site at the resort (thought only the deluxes would have such facitilites but the food court kitchen was more than microwaves and walk in freezers) and the fact the food in the grab-and-go section (where the desserts are placed) were labled with dates.

Hope this helps and thanks for reading!

I have never wanted a cupcake more than I do right now! It looks fantastic!

Donc't talk about cupcakes, seriously, it is already difficult to be strong facing the constant demand of my children...

Well today's post (when I get it done) will have NO Cupcakes. (There may be rice krispy treats, smores, cookies, and a chocolate cake from California Grill though... I'm sorry.)

Mmm. Dirt cake. ;)

DH and I are really toying with a dining plan for next trip, but it wouldn't be the QS . . . however, if we do the DDP as opposed to the DxDP, this will definitely come in handy.

Afraid I might spend all our snack credits whatever plan it is in Karamell-Kuche though . . . .

Does this mean you didn't get to try the Elephant or Zebra cupcake??? I know you had some other good looking ones, but :sad1:

No. Next time. Next trip will have to be in a cooler time of year. It's too hard to eat rich desserts when you are sweaty and sitting outside in the blazing summer Florida sun. I think the lesson is, there is always something you have to put off for another trip!

You will spend every credit in Karamell Kuche - just wait for the next food posting - everyone is going to need to have a candy bar handy while reading it. The photos are dangerous - you've been warned!

So no breakfast bounty today (day four). Honestly it was becoming old already and today we're at Magic Kingdom and if there was one thing I learned from my hours of reading DIS - it's to eat breakfast at Main Street Bakery!

So here goes two snack credits:

P6050028.jpg

Hot cinnamon roll.

In all my years of coming to Magic Kingdom I had never had one, so for those that complain that it isn't as good as it used to be (not as warm/hot or not as large) I can't join you. To me it was warm, hot, gooey, and sweet. And the best reward this non sprinter ever got for dashing off for a fastpass (I had picked up Splash Mountain fastpasses as soon as the ropes dropped).

P6050027.jpg

chocolate croissant.

DSis got this for herself. She said it was the best she'd ever had anywhere. It was dark chocolate and the chocolate was room temperature so it wasn't hard like it can sometimes be. The croissant was soft and flaky - just as you would want it.

Each were one snack credit. We had brought bottle water in the park with us.

Got to hop on board. Not only are we food porn addicts, but after 4 years on the QSDP we don't want to fall into the rut of eating the same favorites. Hoping for some great new ideas! Thanks for sharing.
