Never Again...

Our Family's 'Never Again' would be the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse - once was enough.

What I do like is the fact that one Disney fan's favorite attraction is last on the list of the next fan! It is probably the answer to 'Why does Disney keep that ride/attraction?' Remembering that everyone has different likes and dislikes and expectations from the parks.

U are right bc we loved the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse. I guess it's bc we love that movie and I always wanted to live in their treehouse! We will do it again, but that's the magic of Disney. Everyone has different loves and hates.

wow- I didn't know that the stitch ride was so... interactive (the right word:confused3). I think I just might have to stay away from that one then. :rotfl2:Or maybe if we do go on I wouldn't have to watch/hear the Lilo and Stitch movies so often:lmao:just kidding:rotfl:

Animal Kingdom Lodge...Gave it 3 tries! A really fair shake if you ask me...No can do ever again...

I am really enjoying this thread. :)

1. Dining plan. Don't ever want to be forced to eat so much expensive, lousy food again.
2. Drew Carrey. I should have known better.
3. Dinosaur. I was terrified!
4. January trip. I have yet to ride splash in 4 trips!
5. Parades. I just can't deal with the rude people.
6. Fireworks. Same reason as #5.
7. Hoop de Doo. Lame, expensive and bad food.
8. Luau at the Polynesian. Even more lame show than HDD.

Please don't get me wrong. There are soooooooo many things I love about WDW. In fact, I adore CoP, and many of the other things listed in other poster's never again columns. That's what makes it so wonderful at Disney. You can customize your vacation your own way!:thumbsup2

I liked the Stitch ride alright. I am a HUGE Lilo and Stitch fan, so it was really cool for me to see him moving around in 626 mode. It's definitely not the tamed Stitch from the end of the movie, but the rude, crazy, hilarious one from the escape at the beginning of the movie.

All of that said, I'm a 28 year old woman(and a fan of horror movies, very little disturbs or offends me), not a small child. I think if you have a sensitive kid, or a little one, it's probably not a good choice.

Other than that, it could be way better, but I thought it was OK. DW needs more Lilo and Stitch love. It's the best film they've put out in years imo.

I am not the biggest fan of going in August....It was so HOT, I was sweating standing still in the shade. Not only that, but everything is so crowded that hour and a half waiting times seem acceptable :/

I will say that when I went this past January, the lines were not bad and the temperature was GREAT compared to the 5 feet of snow on the ground back home in Boston!!

Hate Stitch, Hate Figment ride and HATE DisneyQuest...all 3 are so lame I am embarassed for Disney that they exist!

I have a couple:

Ellen's Energy Adventure. It is an ok ride/show, but I don't wish to be trapped on any ride for 45 minutes with the only way out an E-Stop.

Going to WDW the first week of December. I did that for the first time last year, and it wasn't a whole lot of fun. The Christmas party was nice, but I felt like a human popsicle by the time it was done. I hated walking around the parks with my winter coat on too. It just didn't feel like Florida, and it didn't feel like Disney World to me. I've been to WDW in July when it is hot hot hot and I would rather do that again then go and freeze.

I agree with last December being cold, our AK day was barely in the 40's with a strong wind. EE was REALLY cold.

On the other hand, someone mentioned Innoventions. We like it there, and spend time in them each trip. We don't do everything in them, but there are some attractions and on our last trip dds enjoyed making their own rollercoaster.

Mine is over scheduling the first three days. Of course this is also the last week of August so its hot and sticky. We got up at 3 am made it there by 11, checked in, DTD, back to the room to change, MK for a couple of hours then off to Artists Point. Neither DH and I remember much about dinner we where exhausted. Then the next day was EMH morning at DHS and EMH at epcot. Made it to rope drop did rides then had and ADR at coral reef at 2 so took the boat over. I think we made it to 9 that night before we HAD to go to back to the room. Then the next day we had an 8am ADR at Crystal Palace and MK EMH. Again made it to 8ish before having to go back to the room. So NEVER again am I going to over plan the trips.

a) riding the safari in the back....trip before last I was down with mom and dad riding in the back of the safari and several times I got launched several inches in the air. One being high enough I left a whopper bruise on mom's upper arm.

b)spaceship earth...tried it again as it had been years since I rode it and was soooooooo bored.

Interestingly I love Stitch's great escape. it's my third favorite ride under TT and BTMRR. It ties with the original star tours (not sure which will win out after update).

With all the talk about the "Stitch" ride, I thought I'd chime in with my 2 cents worth. Back in the day (my first trip to the World was my honeymoon in 1997) this ride was called Extra Terrestrial Alien Encounter and the basic structure of the ride was the same - you were held in your seat by a shoulder restraint and the story was that an alien you were there to view escaped and then the audience became its prey. You were thrust into total darkness, could hear the alien rattle and move around the room, and at one point a blast of hot air aimed at the back of your neck simulated the alien's hot breath - WOW this was scary the first time we "encountered" it (sorry for the bad pun). I don't mind telling you that I screamed when I felt that breath on my neck, and I wasn't alone either. All that being said, this experience was NEVER aimed at children back then. In fact, I remember numerous signs and audio announcements warning parents that this was not intended for smaller children and that it WAS frightening.

I could be wrong, but I think I also remember that a height requirement was imposed for this, even though the seats never moved at all. This, I'm sure was to ensure that parents or guardians of the nimrod variety (those without a modicum of common sense) were prevented from exposing vulnerable youngsters to this WAY TOO INTENSE attraction.

When the Lilo & Stitch movie came out several years later, Disney saw the opportunity to re-brand this attraction and try to make it a more generic, family-friendly experience for all. Good intention. Bad result. "Alien Encounter" was an attraction I would still visit every time. Does anyone else remember it the way it was?

For my NEVER agains:
~ The Luau at the Polynesian is truly dreadful.
~ Visiting in the summer, even the allure of free DP cannot make up for the misery of the heat.
~ Eating at Whispering Canyon Cafe. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Wilderness Lodge but I am so over the noise and antics of this place. Food only so-so too.

See, I prefer WDW during the first week of December because I love the cold and I love the fact that most of the parks are fairly empty. I prefer the cold to the blistering heat and it is always easier to layer on than to take clothing off, especially if you're as shy and self conscious as I am. Not to mention I think that the Christmas decorations make it all worth it. (=

Another never again for me is dining at the Coral Reef Restaurant. We used to go there every trip because I love aquatic animals and I love seafood. The last time we went the service was horrible and the food was even worse. The manager even came over and asked us why we tipped so low and tried to explain to us that that the state of the food has nothing to do with the waiters performance. Earlier that day my dad tipped 30% at Chefs de France... so the service at Coral Reef was horrendous. )=

That seems rather rude of the manager.

captain EO - the most boring attraction in all the time we've been going (since WDW opened, 2-3x a year)
sunshine seasonings - the food tastes like tepid water

the absolute worst, no way we would ever consider it one is rose and crown...food wasn't just bad, it was disgusting (most of our party of 8 became extremelly ill from what we could stand to eat - we were hungry after sitting at the table for about 1 1/2 hours, waiting for menus, then someone to take our order, then each food course, then flatware, then water, then beverages.....). the entire dinner took easily over 4 hours sitting at a table, mostly waiting.

I hated Cirque - La Nouba. I've heard from friends who saw a Cirque show in Vegas or other places and said it was just great. I HATED this. The Opera singing and strange marriage storyline was just not Disney to me. The acts, of course, where intesresting, but the music and theme was not what I was expecting. They should replace this with a more uplifting Cirque show! And I paid $100+ each for 3 of us!!!

Let me see... DW had a scheduled for two buffet meals for one day. Yikes. I would even expand that to never would I have 2 of any TS meals in one day.

Mission Space Orange. I was sick for a couple hours.

Sounds Dangerous. Is it still there??? This trip I thought we might try a few attractions that I thought I would never do again like Country Bear.

Hoop Dee Doo review....oh my goodness...Ive never been to something so lame in all my life....it was awful. My 8yr old begged me the whole time if we could leave...my 2yr old half hid his head half cried the whole time. There was no kids menu and despite people on this board telling me to ask the waiters to bring my kids something different..they wouldnt. Kids starved, jokes were lame, singing awful, food mediochre..totaly waste of time and money.

I'm sorry your family hated it! My kids were 17 months and enjoyed the food (fried chicken legs for dinner and strawberry shortcake for dessert) and the show. I guess "To each his own" really is a true statement. I wonder if you sat too far from the action. We were really close - maybe that makes a difference.

Wow! I can't believe a Disney restaurant manager called you out like that! How embarrassing and crass. We've had bad service at Coral Reef too and we also don't wish to return.

I do! Seize the Future with XS! Loved the irony of it (what? A corporation that is out to make money at all costs? LOL), loved the sci-fi theme, loved the special effects. Alien Encounter was my favorite ride, I have heard that it was a joint effort by Disney imagineering, Spielberg, and Lucas, and that seems likely to me. But it was very, very definitely NOT for small kids. The Stitch version is a really poor substitute, I think. I can see why they did it - too many people complaining that the ride was too scary and not "Disney" enough - but I was really sad to see the original one go.

I've seen multiple cirque shows and I've heard that La Nouba is of a similar caliber. Whenever I go to Vegas I just have to see a cirque show for the mindblowing-ness. I think that Cirque is there more for the adults than the kids (like many cirque shows). I'm really excited to finally get to see La Nouba after bugging to go for years.

When it comes to Cirque I think that you either love it or you don't...

Yeah, we were kinda in shock, but it might be policy if a person tips /that/ low to determine what the issue was. We always keep giving the Coral Reef a try because when I was little it was my favorite restaurant to ever go to... this upcoming trip is the first time we're cutting it out completely.

Maybe they were trying to figure out what was wrong and fix it, before they had a restaurant full of upset guests. Unless they were rude to you, that would be my guess.
