Overall it was a GREAT trip! But this body was punished by the heat & walking. I use to walk so fast my family would call it the Disney walk because I'd practically run through the parks just to be sure I got my money's worth. But it was way too hot for me to do that & besides now I have an annual pass & I'm a DVC member so I can go pretty much go anytime instead of every few years like I use to. A cast member said July & August are even hotter so count me out. Well here's how it all went

Sunday Arrive at 3:00 check in to AKL 5th floor studio Savannah view. Change into swim suits & head for the pool. Hubby & DSD can't believe all the kids...hello? Schools out & it's family vacation time! My DD & I don't mind it at all & even ventured down the water slide. Catch a meal at Mara, not bad for counter service grab a drink from the pool bar & I'm set Head for dinner at Planet Hollywood around 7:45 noisy as usual food was OK & girls loved it.

Monday Magic Kingdom for a 10:25 Crystal Palace ressie. DSD is 15 & taking pictures with the characters I guess is lame but she manages to give a smile, my DD was raised Disney style is 23 & can never get enough. We head off to POTC wait time 30mins, then Splash Mountain for fastpass, walk over to Buzz light year 20 min wait time, Monster Inc. 15 min wait time DH is picked as the evil guy & DD is a dancer. You should see my husband, he looks evil but is a real softie & he plays along giving his best evil look. Head back over to Splash Mountain wait 15 mins w/fastpass. Decide to head back to resort to eat & DSD wonders if we can eat at the Castle? So I walk up & ask & the young lady of course says nothing available for tonight, then a gentleman springs forward; whispers in her ear & she says she can seat us right now & are we aware of the price? (I am, hubby's not) It's 6:30 & we go right in Cinderella is all alone we get picture taken & go upstairs. I've been here 2 other times & the last visit was the best! This time the Prime Rib was overdone but hey DSD got to experience it and while we were leaving it was packed downstairs.
Animal Kingdom had Extra Magic Hours till 10:00 so we hop over there & Mount Everest was so packed it seemed like everyone from the resorts were there. We decide to do the single riders & still had to wait almost an hour. We managed to squeeze in the dinosaur ride & by the time we got off it was 9:55.

Tuesday Hollywood studios around 11:00 get fast pass to Toy Story Mania to return at 8:00 we never make it. Hubby has a 10:45 tee time with buddy who gets lost & they finally start at 12:00! It's still so HOT outside. At Hollywood studios we do TOT, get drinks, then Indiana Jones DD gets picked to participate and head over to Sci-Fi for dessert at 3:45 & then manage to do the 4:30 Lights, motor, Action show, Great movie ride & then back to the resort. Poor hubby is tired so we stay in for the rest of the evening.

Wednesday Blizzard Beach because it's so darn HOT!! Summit Plummet first 45 min wait, then we did everything else and went back to resort around 4:45 to get ready for our 7:35 ressie at Chef Mickey's.

DD & I have been several times, DH & DSD have not so I was excited to see if they'd like it. We arrive, get picture taken, wait 2 mins and seated by 7:50. Server seems pleasant but can never be found. I ordered a white chocolate Tinkerbell & Cinderella slipper as a surprise for the girls along with 4 chocolate covered strawberries (we got 6 due to mis communication) It finally arrived at 9:00, way too late in the dinner & the table next to us was getting annoyed and by this time so is my husband. We managed to get our drinks refilled 1 time and it was way into the late hour when they were. I ask for a box to put in what's left of the girls treats plus 3 strawberries & 20mins later they give me a large sheet cake box. I politely ask for the check, DH is so mad right now because 18% gratuity is automatically added to a buffet style meal and at this point I just want to leave. Never again my DH says. He'll do no more Character meals until the grand kids come along. I on the otherhand can continue but he's done. I was very disappointed at how it all turned out & was too afraid to complain for fear DH would lose it too.

Thursday We meet up with my brother & girlfriend. We use our developer points to have them stay in a 1 bedroom at SSR & my other sister passes on 2 day park hopper tix left over from 2000 so all they needed was to pay for food. We go back to Hollywood Studios & fast pass Toy Story again, Do the 1:30 Lights, Motor, Action show again,then head over to Toy story Pizza planet get a bite to eat, walk over to TOT when all of a sudden the wind picks up something fierce & just as we walk under the covered building the sky opens up & it pours like I've never seen. we wait about 20mins come out it's raining a little bit now so we all get ponchos & go over to RnR. DD,DSD & girlfriend do it while the rest of wait...an hour! All fast passes were gone. By now we're all hot & damp and decide to head back to resort & get ready for dinner at Animal Kingdom Rain Forest Cafe. We get there at 8:00 wait time is 20mins & then it begins to pour again. No big deal because we all had a good time catching up & our server Joe was so very sweet & patient with all 6 of us.

Friday Took our motorcycles over to Celebration for breakfast, looked around & got back to resort around 12:00, put bikes away & met the girls at EPCOT. First stop Soarin fast pass, then Mission Space, I decide to wait just because I'm so darn hot & my body aches at this point. After that it's Ellen's energy ride, cross over do Spaceship Earth, then to the Seas to do Nemo ride, back to Land for some lunch at food court (strawberry shortcake was delicious!), then the World for a while & back to land to do Soarin at 8:15. Then it's back to our resorts. My feet hurt did I mention it's HOT!!!

Saturday Checked out at 9:30, met at Cracker Barrel for breakfast & headed home to Georgia around 12:00. Had a real Magical time even in the heat! And to think I want to move here, I want to be near the ocean & close to Disney so we'll see!

I know how ya feel! We go every year at the begining of July and every year we say we will go later in the year, but we never get the same time off. So what am I doing next July 2nd through the 9th? Going back!

It sounds like you had a good time even though it was sooooo HoT!

Oh my goodness I do feel for you! I think I'm just getting too old to handle it. I have to be near water if I'm to be in the heat. I live in HOTlanta GA & the first thing my husband did when we bought our house was put the pool in. Well, keep cool & enjoy your time at Disney!

I was there Monday 6/8 to Monday 6/15. Our return flight was 5pm. As we were packing up I told my DH there was NO WAY I was going outside again. I told him I didn't even want to be near the pool. Yeah.....I was that hot! I begged for anything indoors....movies, mall, anything. So we ended up at Disney quest. I don't even like that place, but it was awesome to not be hot. I enjoyed every minute of it. In fact, we got to the airport just in time to board our flight! I could have stayed there all day.
