Ok, not sure why this is on this particular board, but here it goes.

We live overseas. When our son started college in Texas, I felt really guilty being so far away from him. I found netgrocer and gave it a try. Worked great. He and his roomates looked forward to my monthly gift of goodies....everything from tuna to laundry soap.

Never had a problem with them. Also go to www.ratherbeshopping.com . Sometimes they have coupons and discounts for them.

Hope it works out for you!

I used them twice on trips to Orlando. I only used them when I don't have a car. They were great. The box was waiting at the front desk both times. The Bellhop at the HI told us they get these all the time.

thanks for the input.. i am trying to decide what to do for my trip this April and so this is the best idea going!

Thanks Again

I'd thought about using Netgrocer in the past, but never did. When we flew we used a towncar service and made a grocery stop and could get whatever we wanted. I also brought non-perishables in a suitcase (granold bars, etc), but I don't think the airlines want a person doing that now. At the grocery store I stocked up on bottled water, muffins, fruit, etc to help with the restaurant costs. I then either rented a fridge or brought a small soft-side cooler that I stocked with ice daily.

The soft cooler is an awesome idea! I didn't think about it.
And the ice is always available...

The soft cooler doesn't fit a lot of stuff, but at least it can be packed in a suitcase. We're driving this time so we are bringing our plug-in cooler. I've heard of some people putting the plug-in cooler in the box it came in and checking it like luggage. Saves renting a little fridge. I wouldn't do it for a short trip, but maybe worth it for a long one.

Being the kind of travelers we are, packing light or dumping everything in one suitcase so we don't spend our vacation in front of conveyor belts at the airport I don't htink we'd check in a plug in cooler. I'd pay a little more for the convenience of traveling lighter.

But I would not keep too many things in it either. Maybe some juice and fruit. My family survives on pop-tarts until we have a decent meal when the time comes ;)

I think we will bring the soft cooler along, I added it to the list of things to bring. You can even stuff it so it takes up virtually no space in the suitcase...

I agree, I wouldn't bring a plug-in cooler on an airplane. Some people do, though. I wish that I could pack light, but with 4 children (one needing a stroller and a carseat) it's not in the cards now. I do like using the plug-in for car trips where space is not a premium.

We have used netgrocer on three separate visits. It was great! I ordered some items really early to take advantage of the "sale items" and they held the shipment for me until my designated date. I requested a HOLD FOR....... date in the comments area and followed up with a phone call to the 800#. Then, about 2 weeks before we were to leave, I contacted them by phone and followed up via em to make sure all my orders were ready to be shipped. I have never had a problem.

I think netgrocer is great for when you are going on a short trip or do not have a car or not staying on a club floor. Our last 2 trips were for 2 weeks and so I drove right over to the SuperWalMart (geez, I love that place) and did all my shopping, pulled up to the front of the hotel and asked them to deliver the bags to our room.......... It was that easy too!

Hope this helps!
