I just FINALLY remembered to down grade my Netflix account that had been automatically upgraded several months ago. We never Stream Movies from them because the first time we tried it crashed my computer:scared1:. But I do use the DVD by mail 1 out at a time.

I saved about $8.00 so I am putting that $8 a month in my Disney jar.

I am going to keep track of how many movies we use in November, if it is less than 2 (sometimes they come and sit around before we watch them, and then sit around after because we think we will watch it again) You can do 2 a month for $5.98, so if I don't do more than that I can save $2.00 more!!!:yay:

It crashed your computer? We often stream on multiple devices at once.

It is our main form of TV viewing, so we are still putting over $80 away each month from our Directv savings.

Yea, we did the exact opposite, we cancelled our DVDs by mail because we literally stream movies/shows every night. DVDs hardly ever got used. We can rent from the local video store cheaper than thru netflix now.

That crashing of your computer had to be a problem on your end. We have a desktop and three separate laptops that stream, plus our normal way of streaming through our PS3.

I would also recommend you try streaming again... I know in the early days of Netflix we had quality problems and some videos would pause randomly every 3 or 4 minutes... but we haven't had any issue in the past couple of months... actually get better picture quality on some of the streaming stuff than we do from standard cable TV.

If you still can't get a reliable stream it is likely your internet provider that is causing the problem.

If I were going to just rent the random video I think I would probably consider Redbox... 2 movies a month would only cost you 2 bucks from them and even if you were late by a day on both movies it would still be less than Netflix DVD's by mail.

We just cancelled Netflix after their recent fiasco with price changes, plan changes, etc. I'm pretty pumped to not have to deal with it anymore.

We've got a redbox about a half a mile away so we're just going to use that. Our cable is part of our homeowners fee so we have no choice but to keep cable while living here. No more netflix will definitely be a moneysaver for us :thumbsup2
