Netflix?

Some of it not all.

The movies they have chosen for me don't seem to make much sense sometimes???:confused3

Are you rating things? I've found that the more I rate stuff the more accurate their recommendations are.

Here's a few things we've watched this month that we particularly liked:

The Big Tease w/ Craig Ferguson is hilarious
Babies
Merlin
Primeval
Maxed out
Pillars of the Earth

I use the instant mostly for TV shows. What I have lined up or already watched:

Sanctuary Seasons 1 and 2
Seaquest DSV
Buffy (all seasons)
Battlestar Galactica
X Files
Babylon 5
Dollhouse
Man Vs Food

and much more.

I loved Dollhouse when it was on!

If you are into documentaries, I highly recommend "Steal a Pencil for Me." I discovered it on Netflix a few months ago and I've watched it three times already. Seriously the best documentary I've ever seen-it was such an amazing and beautiful movie!

If you are looking for a great and heartwarming story, please check this one out on the instant movies list. :)

Definitely rate stuff and it will make recommendations for you.

We don't have cable so watch a lot of instant. You can also go online and rate a bunch of movies and shows you did like (not necessarily that you watched instantly or through netflix ~ just that you liked).

Personally I find the netflix online easier to find stuff to watch... then I go look for it on Apple TV once I know it is there.

Thank you, I will add this. I love their documentaries (Netflix that is, they have a lot).
Give Who AM I This Time? a try, you would probably like it.

One tiny difference, no commercials!:thumbsup2

Really? I have NEVER EVER watched Lost because it does not look lik my cup of tea......I will add but am making no promises.;)

We did Lost on Netflix (except last season 6, we watched that with everyone else :goodvibes) and really enjoyed it. The fact that you can watch an entire series in weeks rather than many months makes it that much better. And with a series like Lost, which is difficult to follow (by design), made it great!

There are also some great old movies that stream (On the Waterfront for one or Streetcar Named Desire for another). Anyone ever seen the short movie (American Playhouse I think) Who AM I This Time? A very young Susan Sarandan and Christopher Walken, love this movie!

Well, two things.

First, " ... no commercials ... " for the time being. Suck 'em in, get 'em addicted, and then start adding commercials in little by little.

Second, folks have always paid for television - it was never really "free". The way it worked in the past is that viewers paid for programming through allowing commercials to affect their purchasing decisions. That, in turn, provided value to advertisers, and the advertisers therefore paid for commercials, which paid for the programming. Indirect, true, but still viewers paying for programming. That's changing, though: Many more viewers are either ignoring commercials or bypassing them entirely. Not completely, for sure, so they only need to foster these new revenue streams for a portion of the cost of programming.

They did a bunch of those Pop-Up episodes... I wish they did that for all the episodes and released that on disc - sort of a lazy person's Lost. :)

I don't see how they could get away with that as far as customer service goes. I am paying for this service. Why would they add commercials?

Why are there commercials on ESPN?

And what advertising they add may not even be commercials as we recognize them today. Unless you have it in writing that they will never add any advertising, then don't expect that... you'd just be setting yourself up to be disappointed later.

Firefly the series, then Serenity, the movie.
Dead Like Me
24
Dollhouse (also created by Joss Whedon, as was Firefly, Buffy, etc.)

I have so much in my instant queue, I don't think I'll ever have time to watch it all.

Battlestar Galactica is great, but I wish they had included the miniseries pilot, too.
