Netflix: Which plan?

I'm about to sign up for Net Flix, but not sure what plan to pick. Options are:

1 DVD at a time, no limit
2 DVD's at a time, limit 4 per month
2 DVD's at a time, no limit
3 DVD's at a time, no limit

I'm trying to balance cost with convienance. It's just DH and I, no kids to fight over what gets ordered next! :)

I was thinking 2 at a time with the 4 per month limit. But the 2 at a time unlimited isn't that much more. But once I get that, the 3 at a time only a bit more than THAT.

So which did you pick, and how do you like it?

I have 3 at a time no limit. For me this is a pretty good amount. I could never go lower since I'd spend too much time with nothing to watch.

I've been thinking about increasing it however. My problem is I watch movies in spurts. I'll go 3-4 days without watching one then in 1 or 2 days finish up all 3 movies. Then I'm stuck with a couple of days with no movie in the house. Also most weekends I'll watch whatever movies I have in the house.

I have the 2 at a time unlimited plan. For me I looked at it this way.

The one at a time unlimited plan isn't good for me since I would watch a movie then mail it out and go without having a movie for a two nights. I get my movies fairly quickly though say I mail it out on Monday I will get the new one on Wednesday.

The limit of four per month would work some months but not all since there will always be some months were a bunch of new movies come out that I want to see.

The two dvds at a time is perfect for me. I always have one to watch since they get to me so quickly.

3 at a time unlimited since it's just me I don't need that many at once becuase they get to me so quickly in the mail I don't have to go without one for a night.

For my two at a time unlimited I pay 16.10 a month which includes the tax. I think everyone has different needs. I used to have the three at a time plan but it was too much for me so I downgraded.

We used to have the 2 at a time unlimited, but quite often we did not have any movies at home to watch.

Now, we have the 3 at a time ulimited, and we usually have at least one at home at any given time.

I signed up for the 2 per month unlimited. I figure I can always upgrade to 3 per month later if I find I don't get them fast enough.

Thanks for the advice! I just put a whole bunch of stuff in my queue! There are a few tv series that I've been too cheap to buy but really would like to watch, so I loaded up on those. They'll start coming just in time for the post-holiday tv rerun stretch!

Are you able to get the new releases through netflix ? I mean like right away when they are released, or does it take a while before they are "in" ??

We have the 3 at a time unlimited. I think when we got Netflix we didn't have the other options. Some of it depends how far from the distribution center you are and therefore how quick of a turnaround you'll have. If it's a quick turnaround I would consider the 2 movies, unlimited. If it's far I'd go for the 3 movies. I would not do the 4 movies a month regardless. If you are in a mood to watch a lot of movie one month you don't want to be without, waiting for the next month.

This is exactly what was happening to me. Now with 3 at a time, there is always something to watch. This was the best plan for me.

Good luck on your decision. :)

I have the 3 at a time unlimited. I do like it so dd can rent her movies and I can have mine.

I will say that 2 at a time unlimited would be fine too. We had based it on how much we were spending at Blockbuster a month.

DH loves Netflix, not for the movies, but for the fact he doesn't have to "hurry to return the movie".

we started with the 2 at a time, no limit, and ended up changing it to 3. one nice thing about netflix is its easy to change you plan if you feel like its not working.

It is DW, DD and me. We have 3 discs at a time. We usually keep one or two movies for DW and I and 1 or 2 family discs. We like it because we almost always have something here waiting to be seen. Every once in a while, we end up with all 3 in transit at the same time but that has been rare. As DD has gotten older, she's 10 now, we find that we all watch the same stuff more often than not and DW and I have less time to watch grown-up only stuff.
