Netflix The Four Seasons

I binged it all in one sitting Friday night!

I really enjoyed it. It kind of helped that I didn't have any expectations going into it (unfamiliar with the story or the old movie). I just heard some kind of description somewhere and thought I wanted to see it when it came out.

We were having our Friday night festivities, got the Applebees DoorDash, more wine and watch an entire mini series in one night. He fell asleep about halfway through, but I watched the whole thing. :rotfl2:

I will add that this seemed to hit me on a pretty deep level. Not getting into spoilers of course. We do a lot of stuff w/a circle of other couples, so it just makes you think.

Yes, came home from work Thurs, turned this on, DH came in to see what I was watching, and about 4 hours later.....we'd watched the whole thing! It was the most surreal thing we have watched in a very long time....since our 25th is coming up, and pretty much every single interaction between Tina Fey's character and her husband in the first 2 episodes were us.....we couldn't look away. We dont' have couple friends like that though. We didn't know whether to laugh or cry. but we really enjoyed the series and laughed a lot.
I saw the movie back in the day, a couple times, mostly since Carol Burnett and Alan Alda were in it, but back then, I couldn't relate at all to those people/mid life marriage situations. But I guess more stuck with me than I realized, as I watched this series, and kept saying I remember that scene from the movie, etc. I think they did a really homage to the movie, recalling lots of the plot, scenes, etc. just with updated takes and twists. Liked the first few episodes more than the end, but still gave it 2 thumbs up to Netflix for this one.

I definitely identify w/Tina Fey in this too!

Thanks for posting this, I thought it was 4 Seasons Hotel and similar to the White Lotus.

Loved seeing Alan Alda with his cameo.
I haven’t watched the original.
But I liked Danny telling Tina Fey sometimes her face gets so loud.

Finished last night! Loved it for the most part. Will there be a season 2??

Because of this thread I started watching the other day and was hooked, it was playing as DH was working next to me and he started paying attention because Steve Carell is so recognizable. Before I knew it he and I were watching episodes back to back talking about all the couples we know who this sort of stuff happened to. Totally recommend, I now have fingers crossed for another season!

This watch got me a recommendation for Hacks, same sort of Millenial & Gen X mash up vibe and I love it!

We have watched 4 epsiodes i think. Its very good. I did not connect it to the movie at first because its been over 40 years since I had seen it. YIKES

Binge watched it last Friday. It was lame. Sorry to those who loved it. But minimal funny moments. I'd call it cute. Nice watch if you need a mindless night in with some wine and snacks.
