Netflix or Blockbuster?

I'm very happy with Netflix but have never tried the Blockbuster through the mail service so can't compare.

I love the endless selection that Netflix offers because I really like foreign films. But it's nice to be able to swing by a blockbuster and just pick one up. I haven't tried their mail service though. But I don't mind waiting two days to see a movie so Netflix for me! It's a really good price too :thumbsup2

Netflix.:)

Tried both - had a really bad experience with BB. Their customer service is THE worst. I would never go back to the mail service or a store.

BB is closing stores around here, so no benefit there. I say good riddance!

Netflix has great turn around and I haven't experienced "Throttling" in the past two years or so. I also have not experienced damaged DVDs - with BB, almost every slightly older DVD was unplayable.

I've rented movies from Blockbuster but I am terrible about returning. I love netflix because if I don't feel like watching a movie it can wait. I've kept movies 3 weeks. Then, just slip it in the envelope and mail it back. It works out great for me.

Its funny that this thead was started. I just opened up a Netflix account earlier this afternoon. I have been building up my queue's for the last 2 hours. I can't wait to get my dvd's!

Another vote for NetFlix - we love it!! I think I may be buying memberships for family for Christmas gifts this year:thumbsup2

Netflix...without a doubt. Blockbuster Total Access has lost my patronage forever. I used their services for about a year. I loved the ability to return a movie in store and get another movie right away for free. But, they decided to increase their prices. But it apparently was not across the boards. Some people were "grandfathered" in and had no changes to their service or rates. While I was offered less than what I was already getting, but had to pay a higher rate(went from $17.99 to $24.99). And it was done in a completely arbitrary manner. No rhyme or reason to who was going to be grandfathered in and who wasn't. And when I contacted them to complain, they really didn't care. Funny thing though...I still get e-mails from them telling me that they really miss my business and they want me back. Not gonna happen...even if it were almost free.

I have had netflix for years, have always been happy with it. I was not thrilled though when I got an email yesterday that they are going to start charging extra per month because I get blue rays for those movies that have them.

I've tried both. Netflix for a year and Blockbuster for about 2 years now. I pay $19 a month for blockbuster which includes 3 movies out at a time and getting movies from the BB store for free (one per month) and when I return one to the store to exchange.

Netflix was great in the beginning, but got very slow towards the end. I can't beat the $19 per month deal at BB! (I don't think they offer that anymore.)
