Netflix lowered prices

I have Blockbuster and pay $14.99 a month plus tax. I picked them over Netflix because of the 2 free coupons you get every month. We use the coupons usually for video games for our boys which are $7 something to rent so its a good deal for us. If I send a movie back on Monday I have a new one on Wednesday. A few times I didn't recieve a movie and just let them know and a new one was sent right away and once a disk was cracked and also let them know and they sent another one right out. Never any problem with them.

I bet you don't pay $14.99 per month plus tax anymore. It used to be that but they upped it a few months ago....it now comes to $19.25 per month including the tax. It's $17.99 before tax

I am relatively new to Netflix and am very happy with it. Initially I'd receive new releases quickly, I have been waiting since early Nov. for one new release and last week another new release has a very long wait. Is this the norm or am I just selecting popular movies

Go online and check your queue. It could be that other movies have moved to the top of the list. I usually get new releases within a few weeks of them coming out. Many times, if I time my returns right, I can get a new release on the day it comes out. The one time I didn't get what I wanted, I checked my queue and somehow I had ranked some other titles higher.

I like netflicks. We only have the 4 a month, 2 at a time for 11.99. I have thought about doing more, but we dont' have too much time for movies. Maybe I will up it, I would like more for DD so we could see more ourselves. DD seems to get them all. Especially with this new deal. :goodvibes

It takes me 3 days total to get a new movie. For example, if I send it out on Monday, they get it and send out a new one on Tuesday and on Wednesday it is in my mail box.

I have had Madagastar in my que for over a month now. Still long wait. That is the only problem I have had so far.

Yes, I still only pay $14.99 + tax. $15.89 total. I've been with Blockbuster since Sept 2004, my first month was $21.19, then the next 2 months were $18.54 then it was lowered to $15.89 a month tax incuded. It said that would be my rate as long as I stayed in good standing with them.

I am at the 3-at-a-time plan and I really enjoy having netflix. But I must say I think they need to get more of the new release movies. I have several that have been in my queue for over a month that still show a long or very long wait. I try to time it so they arrive Monday/Tuesday for the new realease and it helps sometimes, but it is frustrating to not get the new releases for several month after they come out.

Edited to add: I always have the new realeases at the top of my queue.

We have had NetFlix for about 4 years now and we LOVE it!!! We have a center about 45 miles from us so the turn around id really quick. I ALWAYS keep the new releases (before they really come out) at the top of my queue. i think that does help.
We have had like 3 movies that would not work and I emailed them and they had a replacement in the mail that day. They don't wait for you to send the bad one back first.
NetFlix get a 10+ in my book!!

I have been a member of Netflix since around the beginning, I think 1999. I thought their $21 price was fine, I definitely don't want to see them price themselves into oblivion.

I wouldn't even consider going to Blockbuster. They essentially were forced, by Netflix, to do the right thing as far as late fees and such. I'd rather stick with the company who has been great to deal with all along, and I'd not go to the one who wasn't. I love Netflix!

We've had both. Originally BB, signed up thru mypoints.com, then I got a mypoints email for netflix, so I switched for the points, lol. Never had a problem with BB. Haven't had any problems with netflix either. Netflix is quicker than BB was, by a day or two.

New releases...always get them. Sometimes a movie will say "long wait" in my queue, but, strangly, I will get it anyway...with no wait at all. I have never had a movie "skipped" in my queue due to a "wait."

I just visited netflix, thinking of switching to the 3 at a time plan, since they lowered the price. I currently have 1 at a time.

When I got to my account to switch, the price is still listed as $17.99! Anyone else see this?

I also noticed this when I was playing around with signing up....

I am still going back and forth...
Because we do rent occasionaly from the store...so having those 2 free coupons helps.

If you look at it that way including the coupons...it is only like $10 a month..for BB

The more movies you rent, the less likely you will get a "new release". If you only rent 4 or 5 a month, it would be more likely than if you rent like 15 a month. (This is on Netflix, I don't know how BB works). I do notice that when I rent fewer, I am more apt to get the first titles in my queue.

I don't mind waiting for new releases, though. I have like 250 movies in my queue, so it isn't like I have nothing else to watch!

I got an e-mail today that Netflix lowered the price of my 3-disc plan from $17.99 to $16.99 as of my next bill. This is at least the 2nd time I remember them doing this. And they do it automatically. You don't have to call and request or change your plan or anything. Wish more companies would operated this way.

You have to love competition!!! :goodvibes

We have had Netflix for several years now and always receive new releases on Tuesday or Wed (they are released Tuesday). DH has mastered the queue =) And we receive LOTS of movies from them and have never had them delay it to slow us down.

That being said, we would never give Blockbuster our business regardless of price or incentives but I am thankful that Netflix has made us happy campers!

My biggest complaint is not that I do not get it as soon as it is released but that it might take several months to get it, as it shows a long/very long wait in my queue, even though it is at the top of my list.

I am sure it is the area you live in that affects it also. I get mine from the San Francisco distribution center.

Does anyone know where to get the best deals from netflix? Any coupons or web discounts out there?

The only thing I know of is that they offer a two week free trial.

If you're a member of QuickRewards (which I love, BTW) you'll get -- I think -- $10 cash back (via PayPal or gift certificates) for signing up.

We've been with Netflix for a long time now (years) and LOVE it! A+++++++ in my book.
