Educate me please

I'm thinking it might be the right thing for me to have, but really--no clue.

All I really need is something to get online, and a place to have my Itunes, and pics downloaded.

We have the desktop to do projects as needed.

What brands, best deals, etc.

If you want to have itunes and pics, you're going to need an external drive of some sort to store it on. Just our music is over 10 gbs, plus the i-tunes program, videos, pictures, etc. The good news is that external hard drives are fairly inexpensive.

Actually, if you get one with a decent-sized hard drive, you wouldn't need an external drive. We're looking at them now, and the ones we like have 160GB drives and 1GB of RAM and you can upgrade to 2GB of RAM.

The Asus Eee has very good reviews, and I think that's the one we're going to go with.

We want it to take on vacation to download pictures, and also be able to connect to the internet from time to time. I'd also like it for "everyday" when a laptop is just too big. I can fit a netbook in my purse!

I have an Acer Aspire One, that I've been very happy with for the last year. Runs Windows 7 beatifully and for just simple stuff, its fine.

We want it to take on vacation to download pictures, and also be able to connect to the internet from time to time. I'd also like it for "everyday" when a laptop is just too big. I can fit a netbook in my purse!

They are great to travel with. We took ours on our US trip in Jan and it was great to be able to get the pics off the camera and on the netbook. We also uploaded them from the netbook to Flickr when we were able to get a good wi-fi connection in our hotel room.

We have an Asus EeePc, and love it. We picked it over the acer because Asus makes motherboards, and my husband likes the company.

I am on my Acer Aspire One which I am very happy with, now. I like that I can bring it with me to work and not have to carry a heavy laptop. Also, if something were to happen and I lost it it woud not have alot of word files or other important data and I paid just under 300. I'd be sad but not devestated.
