Nervous about SSR

There was no point structure change at OKW with the two booking areas. With the BWV, standard view is most often gone before they can even offer weeks to RCI. RCI get preferred/pool/garden which is about 60% of the resort.

I thought they made Hospitality House a second booking category (maybe there isn’t a point difference?). That makes sense that there are no standards views left to trade at BWV.

It is a second booking category, but there is no difference in points. OKW members who have stayed there for years, know the near HH area is the least preferred area.

Haven't stayed in years.

But for me desire for certain locations always depended on time of year. When it is cooler I couldn't care less about walking to get places. Actually would crave it. Such a beautiful resort to take in.

And then there was a late May stay. Where I would walk two seconds and have all my sunscreen come off. But then again so many of you are doing the parks in high sun and heat so maybe you wouldn't care. I just think it is important to be close to your desired attractions in certain times of the year. For me that was always Congress Park.

Have a wonderful vacation.

Love, love Grand Stand - but shhh, it will be our secret like ParrottBill said. Grand Stand has a pool, play area for little ones, hot tub and seasonal snack bar. It is the first stop to and from the park for the buses and it's an easy 5 minute walk to the Carriage House and Artist Palette/Turf Club. At the back of the Carriage House is the boat to Disney Springs. It's my home and I love it.

We stayed in Grandstand and enjoyed it. It's the first to be picked up, which means you always have a seat. It only takes a few minutes to make the rest of the loop. I've stayed at SSR twice and would stay again with no hesitations!

We always ask for Congress Park or the Springs. I stayed in the Grandstand section once and it was probably my least favorite location (and I've stayed in the Paddock section right next to the Carousel section). I'm sure it all comes down to priorities. When I stay at SSR, I visit Disney Springs frequently. The Springs gives us easy access to the boat and Congress Park provides a short walk. I also like being near the main building for dining, the gym, and the main pool. I'm willing to walk over if we're placed in Congress Park.

I think, I've heard people talk about a different way to walk to Disney Springs from the Grandstand, I could be remembering wrong. It's kind of close to the main building and some people value the bus stop order. That's what comes to mind for the benefits.

OP: I would do SSR with or without a car, the size doesn't bother me, but I'm the type of person who likes walking. I would, actually, prefer to stay at SSR than say AKV because I want the opportunity walk around nice scenic areas.
I totally agree. We have stayed at many of the Disney resorts and have to say we love SSR the best. We enjoy walking too and the paths around the resort are nice as is the walk to Disney Springs. Have to say we have never stayed at the Grandstand or Carousel and really have no interest in either. Not sure what the attraction is? Too far from Disney Springs for us. But you never know. Maybe someone will share what they really enjoy about Grandstand?
