I planning a trip for *** for a adults only trip with a group of friends as of today 8 of us but more may go. I was pricing the trip and thought it may be worth it renting points for the grand villas or 2 bedroom or the tree house at SSR. How safe is renting points? I found DVCrequest.com I have been reserching prices between this website and disney site. Who had rented points before? how did it go? Do I need to be nervous? reading mousesaver.com made me nervouse about renting....any help will be great
Thanks

I think dvcrequest.com is a legitimate business. They have been around a while. They charge $13 a point where you can can normally get them from an individual for about $10 a point. The trade off is you pay a little more but it is a known source. They probably have a better chance of getting you into the dvc resort of your choice since they have points available from all of the dvc resorts. If in doubt you can probably check them out through the BBB. They also take paypal and credit cards so that gives you added security. The thing you need to keep in mind is that changing or canceling your reservations is much more difficult or may not be allowed at all.

I'm going to move this over to the DVC Planning board, where you'll get lots of help on the ins and outs of renting points.

To start, you'll want to read all the stickies at the top of the DVC Rent/Trade board, which describe the point renting process.

(Note: I've removed specifics about dates from your post. The DVC forums only allow references to dates on the DVC Rent/Trade board.)

If you are the kind of person who gets nervous and requires a guaranteed transaction, then renting isn't for you. Renting has risks but you can save some money.

I´m also planning to rent points for our next trip.
I tried to look at the website the OP mentionend(DVCrequest)but only got a forbidden error.Am I doing something wrong?
Any help would be appreciated,thnaks.
