Nervous about my reservations

About 10 days ago I made my reservations by phone. I just used the number on the Waltdisneyworld.com-site.
The people around there had a great problem with my reservation and I had to call back for 3 times! They were not able to get my adress in the computer, because I'm living in Europe and we use different postalcodes here. They were also not able to call me back, because of my European phonenumber.
At last they gave me a reservationnumber, but it is only 7 digits and I have read somewhere that it should have 8 digits.
I am waiting for the confirmation by mail anyway, but I don't know how lang that will take this time of the year.
So, I am a bit nervous about it and consider to phone them again.
We are leaving in 6 weeks and if the reservation isn't right that would be a problem.
We have booked one of the special rate dreammakerpackages for PopCentury and I am so looking forward to it.
Who can give my an advice how to handle?
Do I have to call them back again or do I better wait for the confirmation?
Thanks, you are all lovely people.:wave2:

For your own peace of mind I would call Disney reservations and ask them to call up your confirmation number. You will know right away if everything is all right.
I suggest you do it right away.
Hope all goes well with your trip!

I don't think that it ever hurts to call back to check. I have two reservations for one stay (one night room only, the other part of a package) and both confirmation/reservation numbers are different lengths.

I can understand your worry. It would be very bad to arrive and not have a room!

Thanks for thinking with me.
Does one of you know if I can ask them to email the confirmation to me?
Ofcourse I can ask them (haha) but are they able to do that?
We had many problems with the spelling of the names and adress as well. I used the Alfa, Bravo, Charlie-alphabet for spelling but they were not familiar with that.
Or my English is just terrible, that's an option as well.

You should be getting a confirmation letter in the mail from Disney. It will give you all the information about your reservation, resort, dates, cost, requests, etc. Do you have a friend who is a native speaker of English? Maybe that person could make the call for you?? That might help. :)

If you are comfortable with this idea, I am willing to help. You could private message me with your info and I can call to check for you. Also, I can do that A LOT cheaper than you!

Let me know if I can help.

Anne

So is theirs, for the most part. :jester:

Thank you Anne, but that isn't necessary. We can make very inexpensive phonecalls from the Netherlands to the States. I don't know why but it is more expensive to call to another city in the Netherlands than to the United States. Some things in Europe are unexplainable I think.
I actually have a friend that speaks English much more American than I do. The lady at Disney told me that I have a heavy British accent. So I will ask her to call the Disneyreservationcallcenter to ask if the reservations are allright now. Hope that will help.
Thanks for all the advices.

FromEurope I wouldn't worry too much. I made a reservation on December 4th from Canada and I still haven't got a confirmation slip in the mail. On my last couple of reservations it has taken about 3 weeks or so to get to me. With Christmas next week the mail is bound to be a bit slower with the high volume of mail. I'm sure if you call you can double check your reservation. :)

Based on your written English skills, it would be hard for me to believe that your spoken English would be any worse than many Americans'. Take a deep breath, relax and ask your questions. If it helps to have your friend call, that's good too. Just do what it takes to make yourself feel comfortable. I'm sure everything will work out fine and you'll have a fantastic time!

we had similar computer problems booking from New Zealand - at one point the computer was telling us NZ didn't exist (I know its small but.....) still we got there in the end but my confirmation didn't arrive so I rang and they had no problems reassuring me all was well - what do you know - went to the mailbox later and there it was... I think ring, check it's okay and watch the postman trip up to the door with the big yellow envelope that afternoon.

Thanks for all your nice answers,
but I am so happy:Pinkbounc : I have received my confirmationletter today!!!!
So everything will be allright now I think. They do have made a spellingmistake in my husbands name, but I don't think that would be a problem. It isn't an airplaneticket or something like that.
This is really great , we will be visiting WDW next month.
