Nervous about HHI Resort Request

We were just evacuated from HHI due to Hurricane Matthew. We have booked a short trip in December to use the points we were reimbursed. I made a request for Top Floor Building 12. That's my favorite location. A couple of weeks ago, we were in Building 11 facing away from the rest of the Disney resort. I really don't like that location. I like to face inward, if that makes sense. I actually like the secludedness of the trees with glimpses of the marsh through them, and facing away from the resort gives you a view of the marsh if you turn your head but has you looking into the condos across the water if you look straight. I think I would be ok with Building 11 if it was facing inward, but I've never had one of those rooms. It looks like Building 13 would probably block any marsh views though. I'm worried that with my request, I have excluded so many rooms that they will not even try to meet my request, and I'll end up under a GV. I would definitely prefer any room in Building 11 before that. Should I change my request? Any suggestions for how to word it?

First, I assume you have either a studio or 1 BR, since that's what's in buildings 11 and 12. If I'm right on the villa type, that leaves out building 13-only 2 BRs there. I think building 11, all the odd # rooms, face into the resort. Even # villas face the water. All the ones in Building 12 face into the resort. Our experience is that you're not being too restrictive by requesting top floor of building 12. We always request "Either of ....." and name 3 different villas. Whenever we make that request, we've gotten one of them. Come to think of it, we've gotten the exact same villa the last couple years-HHI has been super on our requests!

We do have a studio. I understand that leaves us with Buildings 11, 12, 16, 18, 19, 28, and 30. I don't want the last 5 since they are under GVs. And you are right--odd number rooms of Building 11 face in and even numbers face out. My question about building 13 is if it blocks the marsh views for the odd numbers of Building 11. As far as requests, I just know that if I request Top Floor, Marsh View, there's a good chance I will get an even number room in Building 11, and if it's top floor, only half of the balcony is covered. I REALLY don't like that. We got that one a few years ago. A couple of weeks ago, we were in 1126, so it was on the second floor instead of the third. The balcony was completely covered thankfully, but we heard the footsteps above us constantly. I'm a light sleeper and had to sleep with ear plugs. (Come to think of it, I've never looked to see if the balconies of Rooms 1133 or 1135 are completely covered. Anyone know?) So that's why I'm lost on what to request.

ETA--Wonder if I should add Odd Number Building 11? Again I'd rather have that than be under a GV. I'd just prefer Building 12.

Sorry-photobucket isn't working for me right now. When we were in the top floor, odd #, of building 11, building 13 didn't block the marsh view at all, but all the trees did. However, when we were in the top floor of building 12, we could see the marsh fine. Of course, the visit from Hurricane Matthew could affect the trees blocking the marsh.

Thanks for this information. I actually love the trees and I'm ok if they block the marsh; I just like the secluded feeling they give. I think they are so beautiful with their Spanish moss. I just don't want to be looking at a building, which is what I'm doing if I look straight out of the even rooms of Building 11. I may add the odd number room of Building 11 to my request. I just hope they don't say, "This woman is too picky. We won't give her anything she asked for!" LOL!
