nervous about Days Hotel Hotel Circle

Has anyone stayed here? Reviews are decent on tripadvisor, and we got the entertainment card rate of $79.50 per night for 2 Queen kitchenette.

We are staying at this place in June. I was also kind of worried. I did end up changing our reservation to the business class rooms which are in the hotel part because of the reviews I have seen. I hope it is an OK (clean!) place.

I'll let you know how it turns out after our trip. We were going to book the business class room, but the entertainment card rate was supposedly only good for the 2 Queen kitchenette for our time frame. It will just be for 2 nights; so we really didn't need the kitchen. But we just hated to pass up that deal. Everywhere else we haved looked (even normally cheapo places) cost a fortune there.

I know I was shocked at the rates out there also. For what we are paying there we would be in a very high class hotel here where we live. I have been searching and searching for places under $150.00 but it has been hard. I would love to hear what you think when you get back.

I looked at the prices of the Days inn and thought how bad can it be. But the reviews were pretty bad and we wanted somewhere where we could walk to the trolly. We our at the best Western Bayside for $127 with AAA. I did have a the Comfort Suites on Hotel circle for around $79 but we are going with the trolly system.

We stayed at Days Hotel Hotel Circle for 2 nights, 2 weeks ago. Room was very clean, very small, but clean. It was quiet as well. DH said pool looked very nice, although we didn't have time to use it. Staff there very nice. Guest relations called us about 30 minutes after we checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Not an upper-class place by any means, but for the entertainment card rate I go, definitely well worth it. Would stay there again if ever go back.:thumbsup2

So glad to hear this since we are visiting in 2 weeks.
Was your building the one close to the pool? The 2 queen kitchette is what we are booked for also. Small? We are just looking for convenient (Seaworld & Zoo) and safe. How was the food around there?

Thanks for posting your update. Hope you had a wonderful trip.

I don't know the name of our Building, but if you face the lobby we were behind it on the righthand side. Pool was at the very back of the property. We were on the second floor, 2 rooms down from elevator, but it was still quiet. Parking was no problem at all. Always got to park right by the elevator. Yes, it was very small, but we had room (barely) to have one suitcase on the valet, and one on the floor. Room had a small safe, but we never used it. Kitchenette part is actually "in" the sink area of bathroom. But nice fridge and microwave and 2 burner stover (never used that part or the dishes they provided). They also provided dish soap and silverware. It was really very convenient to everything in San Diego. I was amazed that you can get to any part of San Diego within 10 minutes. They give great typed up directions to everywhere upon check-in. We ate once at the Cheesecake Factory at Fashion Valley Mall (right down the road), and once at a restaurant in Seaport Village (can't remember the name, but it is right on the water, looks like on stilts), and that place was the WORST restaurant I've EVER been to. Everything tasted bad and way over-priced. Tons of Mexican restaurants to choose from in Old Town. I really can't get over how close together every area was. Balboa Park is actually next door to the zoo. We walked from one to the other. Beautiful area. Seaport Village and the Harbor were fun to walk around. Old Town was very interesting. I don't know how long you'll be in San Diego, but if you want to get free tickets to things like the Zoo, etc., go to Seaport Village as soon as you get into town. There is a "welcome center" right in the middle of it sponsored by a hotel (Marriott, I think?) Anyway, it is like a time share tour they offer. They are building a new hotel down the street, and if you tour for 90 minutes, you get all this free stuff. They offered us a $75 Visa gift card, free zoo tickets, and something else I can't remember. We couldn't do it, because we were in there at night and going to zoo first thing next morning. It would have definitely been worth it if we could've. Anyway, have a great time!:goodvibes Let me know if you need anymore info.

Thanks for the review! As I mentioned before we are staying here beginning on June 1st. We are in the business class rooms which are supposed to be in the newer building???

Is it easy to get to Old Town? How is the parking in Old Town?

Is there anything within walking distance of the motel to do or places to eat?

We stayed there on our last trip to San Diego. Our trip was 2 years ago and we had no problems at all. I agree that the rooms were a bit small(there was 4 in our group) but it was clean and nice. The pool was great and the kids spent each evening there. I noticed the other posters didnt mention the shuttle service so that makes me wonder if that is still offered. When we were there it was great, we took the shuttle service to both Sea World and the Zoo, helped save money on parking and saved us the long walk from the parking lots too. We stayed there a week and didnt have one problem.

Very, very easy to get to Old Town, and a huge free parking lot there as soon as you enter.
They do still have a free shuttle to zoo and sea world, but we did not get to use it. We didn't know until 9AM, that it left at 8:30 AM and came back at 11:30 AM. We had a rental car, and it was extremely easy to drive to.
There is really nothing within walking distance to see or do. They had a restaurant on site called the Pam Pam, but we didn't eat there. Heard from others it was greasy and over-priced. Saw several people having pizza delivered. Honestly, though, if you have a rental car, it is sooo easy to get to any of the main parts of San Diego.

Thanks for the info! I am really nervous about driving and finding everything. We are not used to big cities. We were looking at the restaurants in Old Town last night and found several we would like to try. Also, want to go to the Cheesecake Factory.
