Nemesis Challenge:It's OK to Finish Next-To-Last, As Long As I Beat HIM/ Its Here!!!!

6 races in Racine (not counting the triathalons) between now and the end of September. There's a 10k Memorial Day weekend and a 10-miler a few weeks after that. One or both of those would be tough but not crazy goals. now to work on Connecticut....(I can get a lot done when I'm stuck on a boring conference call)

edit: I don't know what city Tim's in so it's hard to find races for him.

Wolcott...
I will have Tim running this by sept. not quite a marathon but a nice little warm up race...http://www.warriordash.com/register2012_connecticut.php

HAHA! Not running... lending support! :lmao: haven't decided which team to root for though...popcorn::
We have cheeseballs.

Sign up right away. Don't run right away unless you have snow shoes. I've found a list of races in Wisconsin. Signing up is the hardest part.

Not sure how close these are to Racine, but there's gotta be something.

Excellent! I had forgotten about the Home Run & Walk for Foster Care 5K that Bambi's company sponsors. May 5th should give me just enough time to get back into shape for that one.

And as far as how close to Racine - there's one that starts a mile away from my house! :woohoo:

Wisconsin has a few of these - they do look like fun. Maybe if I can find one in the fall after I've gotten a few 5 or 10k under my belt...

Finally made it through this.

What a grat idea. Good luck to you both. Who knows I am may joing you....:lmao:
:welcome: Pat!

Ooooh. That would be awesome if you ran too!

I know how the "not as well as it should" goes. I've been doing that for about a year now. :sad2:
I hear that. :sad2:

Did I ever tell you how much I love people from Virginia? :flower3:

Just do what I do and antagonize both of them equally. It's more fun that way. :thumbsup2
Thanks for the support buddy. :headache:

Considering CT is only 100 miles east to west by 60 miles north to south, I'm sure I could make any race in the state easily. Plus I live in the middle of the state. The problem is finding a race that is run on the weekdays, considering I work almost every weekend. :lmao:

Errr.... can I get a few runs under my belt before I go and kill myself? :rotfl2:

Hi Tim, Hi Barry (we haven't met though I have chuckled heartily at the banter & sort of quasi met you on Capn Oblivious's cross country TR)

had to follow you over from your other PTR Tim. My DH has taken to running to keep off his 90+ lbs and we have talked about him doing the half marathon at WDW while Katie and I cheer him on. Maybe I'll share some of your training antics ..i mean tales... with him. and K and I would get a WDW trip out of it:rotfl:

Sorry Barry, but I will be on "Team Tim" :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
got to support sweet Juliana's and cutie Christopher's daddy!!!

How come the DIS doesn't have a butt-kissing smiley?

Heck, you can make the state a race! One lap around Connecticut!

So you're already familiar with my work. Please don't hold that against me. ;)

I corrected your post Lisa.
Nice Job, Randall! :thumbsup2

Just so you know, I'm cheering for the strangers in the race because I love you both and I will NOT take sides.:love::love:

How's this for an odd coincidence - just as I was looking at Chris (Goofy + 3)'s post about the races in Wisconsin and finding the CSSW Home Run and Walk 2012, I got an email from Bambi asking if I wanted to run it this year. Fate says: YES!

Bambi works at CSSW (Children's Service Society of Wisconsin, a division of Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.) They are the state's largest private, not-for-profit provider of child welfare services. Among the services they provide are adoption and foster care coordination, children and family counseling, providing intensive in-home therapy, helping young adults that are transitioning out of foster care, providing guidance to parents, and providing safe places for children than have been hurt by abuse or neglect and providing resources for them to heal.

They use the 5k race on May 5th to kick off National Foster Care Month to raise awareness of the need for qualified Foster Parents and to raise money to support their foster care program. This hits home for us not only because Bambi is employed there, but our little princess Madison came to us through the Foster Care system which we were able to adopt her from.

(Oh, the "Home Run and Walk" in the race name has several meaning. Firstly, "home" for foster parents providing a home for children. "Home Run" since it's held a Miller Park, home of the Milwaukee Brewers. And "Walk" because, well, not everybody can run 5k. I just might be one of them. :faint:)

So, I've now got 64 days to get back into 5k shape. Time to hit the road...
