Neighbor Calling Sheriff About Your Loud Music

If anyone is playing music, it should be for their enjoyment not for the whole neighborhood to hear, IMO.

If it was the middle of the day, I definitely would not call the police. If it's been going all day and then extends into late night (midnight or later), I might call, but even then, I'd hesitate, especially if the neighbors were not typically loud.

If I were the one having the party at my house, and the police came by and said that a neighbor had called to complain about the noise, then I think I'd turn down the music (even if it's during the daytime). I don't want to deliberately disturb my neighbors.

This happened in our neighborhood. A newish neighbor was outside doing yard work and working on his car while listening to music. It was pretty loud but it was the middle of the day (I was in and out doing errands so it didn't bother me at all).
Another neighbor called the police. The police came and the neighbor turned down his music. He later apologized to us (I don't know if he thought that we called the cops :confused3) but really it was the middle of the afternoon and I think it was silly for whoever did call the police to do so (and I am pretty sure that I know who it was).
