Negativity?

I have noticed a lot lately that there are many people on this board complaining about the things that vmk gives as prizes or complaining about not winning things. Why is it that so many people are feeling so negative about the game? I think that thechanges that vmk has made are great. The events have been running much more smoothly, and the new releases as well as re-released items are great. I made a ride for the competition that I was happy with and so did 2000 other people. Why am I hearing so much whining about people not winning? If you were happy with it that's all that should matter. There were 2000 rides and 5 judges, and they chose the winners based on their opinions. It is all about opinions, people. Everyone sees things differently. I just want to know if so many of you are unhappy with the game, the prizes, the items, and events- then why on earth do you play? If the game gives you so much to complain about- stop playing. Plain and simple. I can't remember a time since I have been on these boards where so many people whine about so much. Can we go back to what Flower the skunks mom said? " If you can't say anything nice - then don't say anything at all." There are people on these boards that win a lot of events that feel they have been slighted or cheated when they don't win. I don't get this. I play to have fun, enjoy myself and hang with friends. I have never won a best room or best ride. I do it because its fun. Please people, there are so many players that never win and are happy playing- can't we all stop complaining and just thank vmk for giving us the game?

I made a negative comment, but it wasn't on my own behalf.
I honestly couldn't figure out why some rides I felt were so deserving did
not get recognized. (But a few I did see I agreed with.)

I went into the contest knowing fully well I might not win, and I am not
complaining about that or the participation prize, either.

But maybe you weren't referring to me, so maybe I'll just go to the corner
now and eat some chocolate.

I sure hope the DISer who came into my SPace Race room this afternoon to whine about the fact that he didnt enter the contest AND he was really mad at VMK because they should have said what the prizes were for anyone who entered... because THEN he would have entered the contest if he had known 8/9 would be given to everyone.... and went on to say how he has tried a really long time to get 8/9 and that now it will be even HARDER to get it becasue no one will want to trade it.....

How's that for a whine??? And What a lovely place for him to do it!!!!

This was while I had a lot of people in my room, trying to enjoy my ride....

So that is my Whine about the whiners....

IF YOU DONT HAVE FUN BUILDING RIDES DONT ENTER!!!! It's all about the building of the ride, not the winning.... If your only in it for the WIN... Grow up.​

Monkey I totally agree with you. If your not having fun playing then don't play. It is as easy as that. I personally am very tired of reading all the posts from people who are whining and complaining about what is going on in VMK.

I agree that this is a place to discuss the the good, the bad and the disapointments but all I have ever seen you post is complaints. It is always "how can that win over mine" or "my room is much better than that" or things like that. Why don't you just enjoy the game and be happy that you made something you are proud of. If VMK staff feels your room or ride is the best then that is even better but that should not be the reason you build the rooms or rides. You should build it because you enjoy it and want to share it with everyone in the game.

nah, that's not good enough. we deserve more.

I probably fit into the small group of VMKers who don't complain because it's pointless. it's a free game. you're going to get all types of people to deal with. you're going to have long lines for things. you're going to have lag in the games and at closing. you're not spending $$ to have an account so there should be no 'entitlement' mentality.

whatever, I don't care. it's just a game. nothing to get all worked up over.

I will agree with you too. I may "wine" but its more of a sarcastic... - oh crap.. i knew i could have squeezed in a few hours around classes and homework/studying to build someting that people would enjoy and the prizes were cool - type But it would only be around those who knew me I do see lots of complaining, and I try to stay out of it. Its not always about the competitions either. Its about anything, the way people play in pirates, the way it keeps crashing (happens to me lots too btw) the re-release of items (which I love because I wasnt around for the "good" stuff...btw.. did red stuff REALLY come back last chritsmas?!?!?! arg... I came here just after!) I find that unless they re-realease stuff or I get a lucky break.. there is no real way for me to "move up" in the world of vmk. Unless I'm just that bad of a trader lol.

Oh and today - I was called mean and horrible for shooting and killing someone in a capture the flag game... hmm because... its capture the flag, and I cant defend the flag?! hmm.. but yea.. Many people Dis or Not, Old or Young seem to have a lot to complain about latley. Too bad too with the holiday's coming up. I have seen some very nice people who do nice things for others .... even more so around a holiday.

Anyway back to topic.. Sorry to hear there are so many unhappy people around VMK/DIS.

I did not enter because I knew the outcome before the competiton started. How many of these winners are friendly with staff? Some even have hosts as friends. I seriously doubt there were no ties in actual scores. If judges got together in a "round table" discussion, they would give their friends the edge. It's human nature.
