Needles/Shots/Vaccines

Almost everyone I know is afraid of getting their stupid shots and stuff.
Like we had to get our Hepititis B in grade four (three shots), Meningitis last year and everyone freaks out about it like we're going to die from it.
They say it hurts like crap, but I don't see it.
I think it's kinda gross (cos I can feel it wiggle in my muscle- sorry that was gross xD) but it doesn't hurt or anything. I can watch, but everyone says they'll puke or faint if they watch.
so what's you're take on it?
why is it a such a big deal?

Shots don't bother me. I have a high pain threshold and it doesn't really hurt me. They've never been a problem with me. I've had shots all over my body, and the only time it ever hurt was pain medication into a 2 inch deep cut on my leg and the needle went to the bone. after that. nothign bothers you.

Well, I suppose it might hurt because you have a deep cut & it went to a bone.
I get my flu shot every year, it's like a must because I'm scared to death of the flu. Especially the puking part (i'm emetephobic (sp?))

they used to, but they don't now.
sure they hurt the day after.. especially when you get one on the butt..... but yea.

I dislike shots sooo much. One time when i was younger i had to get one specific finger priked, and i didn't want to so i curled my finger up and my fingernail was like digging into my skin so i kinda made myself bleed cause of that. But I'm supposed to get a shot this year and i really don't want to. Anybody have any tips as to what can get my mind off it, while i'm actually getting the shot? My mom tells me to count backwards from 10 but that doesn't work at all.

Shots aren't really painful to me, they just freak me out. I hate when they hit bone too. What really freaks me out it getting my blood drawn, esp. afterward when you get all spaced out and weak. I like the free cookies and oj though!

Meh, I need a Tetnus shot. I'm not all that scared about it. Sure it'll hurt, but I've seen worse. I'll go in there, get the shot, be in and out in like, 5 minutes. Once it's over it's over.

i have Belonephobia or Aichmophobia which is a phobia of needles or sharp objects so i have a big problem with having shots. When i had to have my Meningitis jab about 2002 i had to be pinned down so they can give it to me. I think i got this fear after having a very painful blood test when i was 4

i am fine with getting one but i can't stand watching them put a neddle in any one skin it does'nt hurt for me anyway so i don't know just hate watching it

arg them nurses have to hold me down to give me a shot it dont hurt much

Meh, I need a Tetnus shot. I'm not all that scared about it. Sure it'll hurt, but I've seen worse.

It may not hurt. Mine never did. To me Tetnus shots are bleh. I went without it(overdue for another one) for 2 years. I had infected cuts from nails and such and I didnt die.
I had an IV last Monday and I still have a bruise from it . I can legally give blood now, so I guess it might as well become permanent.

I haven't had a blood test in forever. I hate those but, one thing: never agree to let them do your finger. it creeps the h*ll outta me.

I have no problem getting shots.. but i dont love them either.. i rather just get them over with and not have to get any for another year or so.. so thats how i think about it.. my younger sisters(15) crys no matter what b4 she gets her shots. but she says is not the shot that she is crying up she doesnt like to look at the needle.. so i guess thats a reason..

I hate watching shots go in, but i don't feel any pain. I've had my blood drawn before and that didnt hurt at all. The thought of having blood, my BLOOD, in a tube disturbs me though. I've had about four Hepatits A&B vaccinations cause my mum was a carrier. So... shots aren't a big deal. As long as the needles aren't seen by me. I've also had about two or three tetnus shots cause when i was little, i had a problem with rusty fences.
