Keep us posted

The Varley household sends best wishes for you & your DH. I believe he will see that this is not anything to be ashamed of, as the good wishes of the dis family come in. Many others have walked his road & will share their stories to help both of you. I will keep you in my prayers.

Thoughts and prayers are with you. We just went through something like this in my extended family and can only imagine what you are both going through based on that.

I wish you strength.

Hugs and prayers to you both. I'm glad to hear he's getting help, and as others have said, make sure to take care of yourself as well.

So sorry. :sad1:

There are a lot of medications out there now and sometimes you just have to try a few before you find one the works...and even then it usually has to be tweaked a little bit to find the right dose. I hope they are able to help Shannon as quickly as possible. Is there a counselor available for you as well? It must not have been easy to see your DH in such an uncontrollable state. Find someone to talk to, it will help. Plus you have us and the beauty of the internet is there's usually someone on this board all hours of the day and night so you're never alone.

Hang in there.

Lots of hugs, thoughts and prayers coming your way. We've dealt with mental illness in my extended family. There is lots of great help out there and wonderful support systems. :grouphug: :grouphug:

Thoughts and prayers for you and your family. I have a co-worker dealing with a similar thing too.
:grouphug:

It is good that you are both safe, although I know there is a long road ahead. Take care of yourself and DH. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

hope your DH gets the help he needs

i am so sorry you both are having to deal with this..
you are in my thoughts and prayers...
one thing, i'm sure it's been considered, but you mention that he was on anti-depression medication when he had a violent break...
it can happen that medicine of that kind can itself cause violent reactions of that kind...
it's something to ask the doctors....and one more thing, don't ever be afraid to ask the doctors questions and more questions and more questions....and to get second opinions...
as you said, mental disease is a disease....and there can be differences in opinion as to how it's treated (and with what)..

good luck to both of you....my heart goes out to you....

I am sorry that you and your DH are going through this tough time. I am sending a prayers, thoughts and a great big  your way.

Sending pixiedust: pixiedust: and :grouphug: your way. You and Shannon are in my thoughts and prayers. My mother has been suffering with mental illness for 40 years. I know how hard it can be to see someone you love suffer like this.:sad1: Good luck.

My thoughts are with you. I know how difficult it can be to be faced with something being not quite right with the person you love so much. :grouphug:

Been there so I can offer some empathy. Hopefully your husband gets the help he needs, it takes time but he can overcome.

In the meantime, I hope you have the support you need to get through this.

:grouphug: :grouphug: Many hugs and well wishes for you and your husband. My family dealt with something similar for many years with a family member. She also had a very difficult time not feeling different and ashamed. What I told her was that just as a diabetic needs medication to control thier disease, people with depression, or Bi-polar need medication to control theirs.
