Needing thoughts and prayers please...

:grouphug: :grouphug: Many hugs and well wishes for you and your husband. My family dealt with something similar for many years with a family member. She also had a very difficult time not feeling different and ashamed. What I told her was that just as a diabetic needs medication to control thier disease, people with depression, or Bi-polar need medication to control theirs.

I agree with this 100%. There is often a stigma when people deal with these types of mental issues. Yet, we do not hesitate to take insulin, blood pressure meds, etc.

I wish the best for you and your husband. I have had panic attacks and know how real they are.

I will be praying for you both:hug:

We are thinking of you today. Sending love, hugs, and prayers from Tulsa.:grouphug:

I will pray for both of you. I can only imagine how hard it is for you right now. God bless you!

I talked to the nurse yesterday and she said Shannon is hardly talking. After everything I told her and everything they've seen, they think he is probably bi-polar. That would make a lot of sense since Shannon has had violent outbursts in the past and a lot of (what I know now) was manic behavior. I have tried to talk to Shannon myself, but he doesn't want to talk to me either. This is all so tough, but I appreciate all the thoughts. Thank you all for the love from my DIS family!

too many people have mental illness that goes undiagnosed or find it something to be ashamed of and don't get treatment.... i applaud you both for how you are handling the situation. You both are very strong and you are in my prayers! PM me if you ever need to vent!

I'm not trying to diagnose, honestly, but I know that when we first started my DS on meds, they were giving him a med for depression (even though all the signs pointed to bipolar). Those meds nearly sent him out of his mind...he thought he was truly going crazy. When we finally got him on the right meds, he got so much better. Hang in there...it usually takes a few tries to get the meds/diagnosis right.
