We are looking to stay in the Universal area for 2 nights prior to the start of our Disney trip. We'll be going to Margaritaville and checking out Citywalk and the day before Disney going to the beach.

I've been thinking about Priceline bidding but not sure. Anyone bid on a 3 star in the Universal area? Which resort did you get and did you like it?

I would recommend the Fairfield Inn (cheaper side) on Canada Ave. Its right off Int'l Drive, and less than 5 mins. from Universal/City Walk. I would also recommend the Crowne Plaza off of Universal Blvd (which takes you right in to Universal). Again, less than 5 mins. from Universal. Both are fine hotels, with the Crowne Plaza being the nicer of the two.

LEt me know if you have any other questions. Hope that helps!

If you plan to do any of the Universal parks at all, I highly recommend staying at one of their onsite hotels. They are beautiful, 4* and only a couple minutes walk or relaxing water taxi to the parks/CW. The Hard Rock is our fav.:lovestruc Also you can just show your room key to bypass reg. lines. It's like an unlimited fast pass. :cloud9:

If you have AAA, you get 10% off restaurants and souv. shops at both parks and CW. This is whether or not you stay onsite. Just show your card to the cashier.

Check out the Universal Boards on the Dis for more info.
