Your wife and mother-in-law are in my prayers. Last August, my very healthy mom went into the emergency room with abdominal pain. Seven weeks later at the age of 58 she died of pancreatic cancer. Way to young. She loved her grandchildren so much and to have that relationship ripped from my son and from me is heartbreaking.

It is so hard to watch someone you love so dearly in pain and in what may look like a hopeless situation. I pray for recovery and for strength and wisdom as you deal with the pain and fear of the situation. God bless and we are hoping for recovery.

I feel your pain. My grandfather is in the hospital now also with pneumonia. He is on a ventilator and feeding tube. Recovery doesn't seem likely for him. Now, my mom and grandmother need to decide if/when the tubes should be removed. My grandfather is 93 and your MIL is much younger but the heartache is still the same.

My thoughts & prayers are with you & your family. I hope your MIL is feeling better soon.

My DD had bacterial pneumonia over Christmas. She was only 18 mo. at the time. It was scary, she was a very sick little girl. Fortunately, she didn't have to be hospitalized and was better in about a week.

I'm hoping for a speedy recovery for your MIL as well.
